#PCOS is complex, with many genes involved. Our #AI method revealed some exciting data in this paper on nutritional support (aka “nutraceuticals”), some of which aligns with previously suggested interventions, while other findings are novel. Learn more: nature.com/articles/s4429…

This #FridayFertilityNews has a fresh look. We’re bringing you a revamped take on the five most important, surprising, or thought-provoking stories in fertility each week. Beyond the headlines, we’re sharing our @conceive Take or My Take on why these stories matter and how they could shape your fertility journey. This week, we’re diving into how chronic illness is rewriting family plans, friendships tested by IVF and motherhood, and groundbreaking research poised to reshape fertility care. Let’s get started: 1️⃣ AI: Your New Fertility BFF? 🤖 A new study says AI can predict the perfect timing for IVF, thanks to its follicle-size obsession. It’s like your overly precise friend—annoying, but effective. 🧐 @conceive Take: AI is a great tool for analyzing complex data, but it’s not replacing the empathy, guidance, and support that fertility journeys need. This study shows how tech can empower care teams—and, ultimately, patients. We’re all about this. nature.com/articles/s4146… 2️⃣ Can Friendships Survive IVF vs. Motherhood? 👭 One best friend’s fertility struggles and the other’s new baby created major tension—and a podcast-worthy story. Spoiler: They’re still friends (but it wasn’t easy). @safimichael @helenpidd 🕵️‍♀️ My Take: Personal relationships can become VERY tricky when trying to conceive. I know from my own journey that it felt like friends and family were able to blink and get pregnant and the jealousy seeped in quickly. Just one reason why I started Conceive–giving you a community of new best friends who are going through the same journey as yours, but aren’t part of your day to day. Plus peer coaches who have also been there. Whether it’s emotional support or simply knowing you’re not alone, the right connections can make all the difference. We’re here to help connect you with a community of people who truly get it. theguardian.com/news/audio/202… 3️⃣ Endometriosis and Pregnancy Complications 🌸 Endometriosis increases the risks of preterm birth, preeclampsia, and more. The stats are clear: it’s tough, but personalized care can make a big difference. 🕵️‍♀️ My Take: While endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, it remains so misunderstood in the medical world–diagnoses often take years due to invasive procedures and limited insurance coverage. This study highlights the urgency for better research and care—especially for women trying to build families. fertstert.org/article/S0015-… 4️⃣ Sperm DNA and Pregnancy Risks 🧬 A new study shows that high sperm DNA fragmentation (DFI) levels may increase risks like preeclampsia and preterm birth in IVF pregnancies. 🕵️‍♀️ My Take: For far too long, we’ve obsessed and focused on the female side of the fertility equation…which often leaves women searching for a problem, only to find out months or years later that her partner has sperm issues or worse–no sperm! We’re big believers that one of the first things you should do when you’re trying to conceive is a semen analysis. It’s cheap, easy, and pleasurable! The more we understand male reproductive health, the better equipped we’ll be to tackle complex pregnancy risks. fertstert.org/article/S0015-… 5️⃣ Long COVID’s Hidden Toll on Fertility 🦠 Turns out, long COVID isn’t just a health hurdle—it’s rewriting the family plans for millions. For Melanie Broadley, her health struggles have put motherhood on pause indefinitely. @hayley_gleeson 🧐 Conceive Take: This story raises big questions: How can the fertility world better support people facing chronic illness? And what does it mean to plan for the unknown? abc.net.au/news/2024-12-2…

💡Our team just published a study in @NatureComms! 🔎We explored how #AI can help identify the best ovarian follicles for improving live birth outcomes in #IVF treatment. This breakthrough could transform clinical decision-making for couples facing infertility. Links below👇
