@SimonKelly1184 Sounds like a good balanced strategy 👌 I’m keeping it simple with VWRP for now, but I like the idea of a core ETF base before adding dividend stocks. Which 3 ETFs do you hold?

Portfolio question 📈 Do you prefer: A) One simple ETF B) 2–3 ETFs C) ETF core + individual stocks D) Full stock picking I’m keeping it simple for now, but curious how others structure theirs.

@SB7Invests I started investing before Iran - US conflict. I was down and the numbers were getting worse. Now I’m up £1450 for the YTD. Just hang in there.

First portfolio update and I’m already in the red 😂📉 Brand new investor, fully invested in VWRP and adding £125 weekly for the long term. Trying to see this as part of the journey rather than something to worry about. How did you feel the first time your portfolio dropped?

@financefraz I personally use credit for my purchases. Add the money to my wife’s Cash ISA. I pay 0% why the cash earns me 4.5%. Then when the interest free period runs out I take the money out and pay off the debt. Rinse and repeat. I use my ISA allowance for my 212 account.

Genuine question... Do you count 0% credit card debt as "real" debt? If you're paying 0% interest and have the cash elsewhere earning interest, does it make more sense to keep the money invested/saved until the deal ends? Or do you prefer to clear it as quickly as possible, regardless of the interest rate, just for the peace of mind? Where do you stand? 👇

@TheParaInvestor The S&P spends 5-8% of all trading days at ATH if you count intraday trading. Invest for the long term. An S&P index fund might be at an ATH, but in 5 years time that share price will be gone forever. DCA in works very well. Don’t throw big chunks in all at once. Enjoy the ride!

I’ve only been investing for 6 months One thing I’ve noticed is that people are constantly saying the market is at an “all time high” For those who’ve been investing any longer than 6+ months - would you say now is a bad time to start investing?

@nebx500 @GBPolitcs The whole point is to wait for the correct moment to invest. Not blindly adding money at ATH because the government want to tax you on intrest made on that cash. Buy the dip, eh! What are the idiots on! I want to invest at the right time to maximise my return, not gamble! FFS!

🚨NEW: The government has announced that, from April 2027, interest on cash in Stocks and Shares ISAs will be taxed at 22%, and under-65s will only be able to put up to £12,000 a year in a cash Isa, down from £20,000

@robinmonotti When I was growing up in the 1980s we had a lot more snow in winter than we have now. We now have milder winters. There is no doubt the climate is changing. However, the climate has always changed. If we hit net zero, we would stop 0.02 of warming. Maybe Ed should step aside.

If it is "CO2" that is causing 35°C today, then what is causing a drop of 11°C by Monday? Anti-CO2 perhaps? Or maybe CO2 has nothing at all to do with the weather and never did!

@BenInRushcliffe If we achieve net zero in this country it will make 0.02 degree difference to global temprerures. We need to achieve net zero but not at the expsense of everything else!

@Peston Burnham has no mandate to govern. If he strays from the manifesto Labour stood on, there has to be a GE. This is unbelievable! Burnham’s popularity is already waning. Goodness me.

Neither Streeting or Burnham are planning to say or do anything in public till Monday. They want the PM to have the time and space to assess whether he has sufficient support within the parliamentary party and the membership for his revealed intention to fight a leadership contest to be anything other than self harm. Streeting and Burnham believe that, when he has heard from his cabinet colleagues, he will recognise that negotiating a handover of power in a calm and consensual way is in his interest, as much as in theirs. This may be wishful thinking on their part. We’ll see

@DeborahMeaden Burnham has something that Sir Keir has not and never will have. He is a leader. That's what the country needs. A leader not a well educated clerk.

If @Keir_Starmer resigns as @UKLabour leader on Monday (fingers crossed) does that mean McSweeney gets sacked twice in the same crisis. Out, out” might be the best description. “Sacked, sacked” suggests there was still a job left to lose. 😄

1/ @KeirStarmer never really managed the PLP. He outsourced it. The politics. The relationships. The difficult conversations. He left others to do the heavy lifting while he played the role of chief executive.
