My friend met a man at an important conference. He told me the man was the gloomiest, most depressed person he'd ever seen. At dinner, my friend asked the man about his career. I was going to let this slide but it'll annoy me if I don't address it. Birbalsingh says "We sing God save the King, Jerusalem and I vow to thee, once a week. Find me another school that does that! You should see what we do for Remembrance. We write a card yearly for the Queen’s/King’s birthday." -- These are performative rituals. This does not make for integration, not least because British kids don't even do any of this nonsense. Integration, insofar as it does happen these days, is when ethnic minority kids are exposed to real British culture - which they're not going to get from Birbalsingh's contrived curriculum - especially when her school is in London and majority BAME. They can only integrate by being exposed to ethnically British kids. As such, it is not an exercise in integration. It's little more than elite socialisation. It doesn't mean her kids will grow up with any better of idea of what makes Britain tick. Moreover, when she still allows her kids to wear hijabs and other ethnic garb, she cannot possibly tell us with a straight face that she's making a serious contribution to integration. It's essentially reinforcing separatism - making no demands of foreigners to compromise their ethnic/religious identity. The precise opposite of integration. But this isn't telling us anything new since Birbalsingh sees no problem with a Moslem separatist being on the board of Ofsted. At best, she is rearing a cohort of "citizens of nowhere" who will no doubt pass their exams with flying colours, and fit in sufficiently to work in law, politics and media, but only as part of a class of internationalist cosmopolitans incapable of relating to anyone without the exact same indoctrination. Regime clones basically. We're supposed to praise this as the new model for education but it's more of the same multiculturalism only it's wearing civic nationalism as a skinsuit. You have to be a complete moron to fall for it.
