This is probably the best essay on Dubai I have ever read. And it absolutely gets the place right. Fantastic read. I wish more Indian cities were like Dubai than Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai or Kolkata. We need less emotion, more planning.

My friend just got placed on Day 1 at IITM with a 60 LPA package. People love to criticise JEE, but they forget it’s actually the simplest path in the long run. Crack it and you get four years of clarity, structure, and opportunity. Miss it, end up in a tier-3 college, and suddenly you’re juggling DSA, dev, communication skills, side projects, and five other things, just to land 4 LPA. Sometimes the “hard” thing is actually the easiest route forward. Study hard, that’s it. people who have genuinely prepared for JEE would relate!

The older I get, the more I realize you can reinvent yourself as many times as you need. New habits. New mindsets. New standards. New people. New career. You’re never stuck. You’re allowed to change. Today, tomorrow, and as many times as it takes to create the life you want.

fundamentally believe the solution to the loneliness crisis is framed wrong it’s not just about making friends it’s about living a life where you feel the possibility of connection is all around you - smile at the barista - chat with a stranger in the grocery store line - text old friends - call your parents - find strangers to play volleyball with friendships are inherently transient - people move, people get busy, priorities change. make it so that you feel connected to humans no matter who specifically is in your life at that moment

Are you building something for Elders in India? If so we at Blume Ventures have something interesting for you! Read on! With a population of ~145 million, and with this cohort getting richer every yr, elders are an increasingly important consumer demographic. In recognition of this, we at @BlumeVentures have been speaking with consumers (both elders and their caregivers) as well as founders to better understand this space. If you are a founder building in the Eldercare / seniorcare space, we would love to invite you to share your views on a WIP version of our eldercare / seniorcare thesis we have been working on. Please comment here to get access to the same. We would love to co-create this with your insights. Due credit will be given! (image via DALL-E; prompt: "old Indian couple travelling in space")

@sajithpai Hi Sajith, I founded seniority.in in 2016 (e-comm portal focused on senior care products, now a part of HCAH). I was also a part of CII’s Taskforce on senior care in India. Am a firm believer in the potential of this space and would love to connect and exchange notes.
