This screams of "inauthentic" promotion for The Odyssey. Every insider is posting the same photo from inside the theater, just different angles depending on seat position. Everyone is posting the same generic positive comments with no substance. Everyone is an industry insider, a popular streamer, or a content creator... someone "connected". Posts like this are everywhere on X, Facebook, Threads, Instagram, TikTok... No one is using any disclosure of "paid promotion," free tickets, early access, or anything... despite FTC rules that consider early access as compensation and should be disclosed. All of this after the studio said they were skipping influencer and word of mouth screenings and previews and going straight to critics. Now this tactic isn't new. It happens with a lot of big-budget films with "prestige"... but it's usually not so "on the nose" when it comes to blatant influencer marketing. They tried to make it seem organic, and all it looks like is yet another astroturf marketing with the same format and minimal variation.

🚨Andy Serkis on the lack of diversity in the casting for ‘The Hunt for Gollum’: "Tolkien himself was influenced a lot by Norse mythology, there's a lot of that feeling. The Shire feels very, very much like a very, a very white, you know…" "They're not very concerned about what goes on beyond the borders of The Shire, but they know they don't want people coming in. "Yes, there have been criticisms," he says, acknowledging arguments that are now almost a quarter of a century old. "This particular film is somewhat acknowledging that. But we don't think we will be doing a politically correct just-casting-for-the sake-of-casting-and-ticking-boxes version of the film. So, it's only where relevant basically." Via @BBC

Our ★★★★★ review of THE ODYSSEY, While Nolan’s screenplay is certainly not the most accurate to its source material, it captures the soul of Homer’s tale, outstandingly translating into images the most magnificent comeback story ever told.

"Oi, meu nome é bolinho e eu tenho um onlyfans"

First thoughts on The Odyssey. There is a scene at the very beginning of the film in which, in the absence of his father, Telemachus is being trained by the blind Eumaeus, Odysseus’s loyal servant. Eumaeus warns that the reason Telemachus is constantly being bested by his sparring partner is that his defense is too quick. He must move more slowly, open his chest, invite the attack, and use his opponent’s momentum against him. In the spirit of Odysseus, deep trickery is at work in this film. Don’t let the apparent compromises fool you. The Odyssey is an absolute triumph. It is made with a profound love for the source material, filled with deep pathos: the return of the father, the elevation of the son, and the restoration of proper order despite all the sins perpetrated by the guardians of that order. It is a film about the end of one world and the beginning of another; about remembrance, return, and the perpetuation of an order after a long wandering through chaos. It’s The Odyssey.

Sam - you were more than just a lovely actor to work with - refined, thoughtful, a skill second to none - you were a mentor, protector, and above all, friend. Thank you for making our scenes together feel so real. I will be forever grateful to have been on this journey with you.
