@PhilosoKiki Have you got any examples to show us? It sounds super to see
English

@NinaStrohminger I bet you find it’s like everything else - success in things people look down on still requires an enormous amount of skill, networking, risk, and hard work.
English

@ShirtPantsJones @jeffpasquale00 @DavidKaib China has come up with scores of low figure innovative monetization models.
Perhaps it’s just easier to get more VC money than research them?
English

@jeffpasquale00 @DavidKaib Good point and all the tools they would need to make this work have been invented. Hey want to read this? Paypal us $.99 and you can read it for 48 hours.
English

@A_Fika_Monster @bryan_caplan Oh I get it. You were pro disability rights when it was an effortless medal you could drape yourself with.
But when it involved the mildest inconvenience to save lives - wear a piece of cloth or maintain vaccination status - suddenly it was too much.
Sickening.
English

@brockway_llc Related: the best bite of any treat will be the first one. After that enjoyment drops off dramatically.
So buy more frequent, smaller or shared treats.
English

@benwritesthings Both your examples are already widely used but I’m not going to argue - it’s an emotional topic
English

@benwritesthings I think that’s a different (serious) issue.
In socialized, universal health systems, ICUs & staff are also becoming overwhelmed, regular patients dying etc.
Taxing the wilfully unvaxxed has been argued as a way to pay for more nurse’s overtime, keep corner testing free etc
English

@76union2 @HeyImPostinHere @leftiply @adamjohnsonNYC @EoinHiggins_ Dude, if it doesn’t help, its a rip off at 1/100th of that price.
Why not eat oak leaves or used subway tickets from the trash? They’re even cheaper than Ivermetcin!
English

@SipsAndFoam @HeyImPostinHere @leftiply @adamjohnsonNYC @EoinHiggins_ - Pfizer had revenues of $145m per DAY last quarter.
- Ivermectin costs about 1 cent per dose to manufacture and is off patent.
You people are like the Republicans during the War on Terror: just completely fucking full of garbage information and zero critical thinking. Scary.
English

@prchovanec I still value the lives of those who are medically unable to have vaccines, and have preexisting conditions.
My compassion has gone up if anything, as I reflect on how garbage most Northern Hemisphere countries have managed this pandemic.
English

@CurziRose Eg. A monk might hate doing the dishes. But they might love a meditation, 2x as long, they can do in the sun instead.
Or they might be the worst monk at getting up early. But the best ever monk at using semi-awake spiritual visualizations.
English

@CurziRose There are ~100 different tantra practices for ~100 situations.
Laziness is a simple example. Most religions see sins as something to repress. But sins usually come back stronger.
Tantra worked out new meditations, that use sins, etc as big fuels to help monks reach awakening.
English

@ATabarrok The Northern Hemisphere has never really tried to stop it. Just keep it in the community juuuuuust under the point where it overwhelms hospitals.
Dumbest non-policy ever.
English

@econhist_allday Radio (now Zoom) school has been the Australian outback default model for ~80 years. Works great.
English

@jichikawa As soon as you find your first song & band you like, there’s a good trick:
1. Go to allmusic.com & type the name of that band.
2. Print out all the “Influenced By” bands there. Listen to their top singles on YouTube.
You’ll be an expert on that niche in no time.
English

@bendreyfuss The default schooling in far outback Australia is internet (or radio!) schooling. Kids don’t care & works out fine.
Definitely not worse than the Iraq war. Otherwise giving Iraqi kids zoom schooling would have been the first shock and awe wave in.
English

@RomeoStevens76 If you mean it is too low I agree.
I’m not sure the US can ever rebuild its independent public media, hence democracy, bipartisanship & shared reality. Web3 replacing Facebook etc is only a slim hope.
And it’s clear few nations are willing to make climate change sacrifices
