Launch day! I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed working with @intercom on our new messenger app. Big thanks to @erskingardner, @xaqread and the rest of the community for your help. #content" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">sorryapp.com/product/notifi…

@jamesm @kyee Yep, the "ticket" they give you is a basically an invoice - just ignore it, they will rotate through a bunch of legal firms sending you threatening letters, but then give up. It's one of those industries I can't believe is allowed to exist unregulated in this day and age.

Time to replace my Mac. I've been running a Macbook Pro for several generations, but the new 15" Air looks pretty great, any of you other devs using one?

@SirRawlins If you can, get a pro at 14 inches. The M3 chip, the form factor and all that power will see you running your Mac for another few years.

Due to a marketing mess up that has absolutely nothing to do with poor planning, the first 10 people to buy both cans of CocoaDocus get a FREE Easter Egg 👀🍫

@excid3 Perfect. That's very similar to my Heath-Robinson approach. Who knew inserting thousands of background jobs at once would be slow. 😅

@SirRawlins We now insert all the event and recipients then queue up a job to process the event which queuesup jobs for each recipient. Works pretty well and is as fast as an insert all. Also removes duplication of the params which is nice.

Noticed v2.0 is released. 🎉 * Notifications are now Notifiers * Bulk deliveries are now supported * New models introduced for faster delivery to 1k+ recipients * New delivery methods like Discord and Webhooks * Simpler configuration Noticed v2 takes advantage of Single Table Inheritance on models to provide a really clean interface for defining notifications, how they're delivered, and rendering them in your UI now. We've split the Notifications model out into 2: Events and Notifications. Event stores the params and has_many :notifications. Notification keeps track of the Event's delivery to a recipient (and seen/read status). This allows us to insert_all to send a notification to thousands of users at once faster. Plus, we can enqueue the Event as a job for processing deliveries. Bulk deliveries will be run once for the Event. Individual deliveries will be run once for each recipient of the Event. This is handy for APIs that might send bulk emails or a Slack notification for your team that just needs to be sent once. Config blocks now help you define options in a much more organized fashion. Tons of other improvements that I'm excited about like notification_methods that I added this afternoon. Check it out and let me know what you think: github.com/excid3/noticed

@SirRawlins I feel it’s ok value for money to be honest, especially once you claim the VAT back, you can’t buy much else brand new for the money these are, and it’s quirky and has personality I have a yellow one coming in the next 4-6 weeks if you want to discuss, brand new.

First weekend ‘away’ with the Jimny. Exactly what it was bought for (other than my work ‘van’), dog fits easily, roofbox gives us loads of space. Hopefully do some further afield in the future

I haven’t had a mid life crisis for a while. However, I’m planning one at the moment (possibly my most ridiculous one yet), and therefore the TT will be for sale soon to partly fund it. Just as soon as I get around to doing a few little jobs it needs.
