Sarsour has been a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. for over 30 years. He is being accused by the U.S. government of failing to disclose a conviction by Israeli military authorities from when he was a teenager, a charge Sarsour disputes, stating he did not understand the proceedings conducted in Hebrew and was tortured while in custody.
