The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users. As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

Another bankrun. People over-panic about @aave . Even the $ETH in aave now - which is the source of all fear - it's priced at 1.2% discount only. Aave is trying hard to avoid a haircut by arguing Layerzero should be largely liable (no one cares about Kelp as it has no money). But even Aave fails at this, the market is pricing the haircut to be 1.2% only. It's totally reasonable if one does not wish to materalise this haircut and just hedge the risk by borrowing some $USDC $USDT - 15%, like insurance premium. But for lenders - i c there's no reason of fleeing. ETH is already frozen, so it's either haircut or not; and no way other assets like stablecoins will be affected. Aave is still Aave. And absolutely no reason of fleeing out of Morpho, which is totally irrelevant in the rsETH hack, unless you are in that specific rsETH/WETH market.

imo L2 Aave ETH lenders taking a concentrated loss would be among the ugliest, nastiest outcomes in our history. you're talking about kneecapping the life savings of our brothers in eth whose only crime was not being rich enough to use L1 Aave

Sadly I can’t access my eth deposited to aave in arbitrum network. Hoping @aave will resolve the issue

@Sirdavos74 @0xngmi No, they are fine. If they then deposited that ETH onto the Arb version of Aave then they would be at risk

atm you can exit aETH for a ~1.1% haircut on llamaswap i wouldnt recommend it, but you get way better quotes onchain than these otc offers that are floating around

@Sirdavos74 @0xngmi That's where all the losses are because the bridge was robbed. So all the L2 Rseth is unbacked.

aave only normalizes after markets unfreeze once the resolution to this exploit is clear (and acceptable) currently its a big question mark about who is going to eat the bad debt
