Hudad's trubute to Humum... Many of you here today have known Barbara for much longer than I have. We met 10 years ago in 2016. On our first meeting Barbara asked me if I would like a drink, when I replied, " Yes please" she said, "You'll have to make your own. I don't drink tea or coffee" What she would have thought of my recent coffee machine addition to the kitchen, I'm not sure! We were married 8 years ago in 2018. As a very happily married and retired couple, we moved from our home town of Wigan to our new home in St Anne's in 2020. We moved on Friday 13th March, but there was nothing unlucky about our decision. The last 10 years have been incredibly happy. The last 5 years have seen us living our dream, in our lovely town, meeting many new friends and living next to wonderful neighbours, many of whom are here today. Today, I pay tribute to my beautiful wife, funny, always smiling, cheerful, determined, organised, and since February 2022, when she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer, incredibly brave. We shared a love of music, cycling, quizzing, walking our dog Bella and just doing everything together. There simply is no one to compare with the remarkably talented Barbara. A few years ago, she made a bandana for our dog Bella to wear. This grew rapidly into an online shop that traded for over 3 years and made thousands of sales to 20 countries. Everything hand made with great skill, love and patience. She had an amazing skill of high speed knitting, whilst watching TV, rarely looking at the needles! Barbara was a talented pianist, who would be very encouraging to me as I attempted to accompany her with very basic drumming skills. She also spoke French, which was very useful during our wonderful trips to the beautiful town of Honfleur in Northern France. To see this active, cycling, walking, dancing lady, slowly losing her movement over the last few months has been unbelievably cruel and difficult. Barbara's infectious smile, that has been mentioned thousands of times in the wonderful cards and messages we have received, made a lasting impression on everyone she met. An outstanding Headteacher, officially that is, she was so proud to lead her school through an inspection that gave the verdict "Outstanding" An amazing Mum, Aunty, Nana, Cousin and friend. But to me simply the best wife that any man could ever wish for. Barbara, I'm not alone, in saying I'm going to miss you so much. Love always xxxx

Herdmom Tine here. I’m struggling with loss. Not just Wellington. It’s the 28 souls I carried to the bridge before him. 29 trips since 2020. Plus 3 that didn’t make to the house. Sure I did this to myself. I openly take in the hospice cases knowing time is short. They deserve love and grace. My heart gets prepared. Welly came in sturdy and my heart was so happy. And now it’s not. So I’m going through the motions because the rest of the herd needs me. My commitment is solid. I’m just so sad. Posts will be spotty, don’t worry we’re still here. I’m still here. On the mend.

Love mom 🌈💔 We confirmed Lymphangiectasia as an uncommon secondary disease with only culprit left as the cause - intestinal cancer. Definitely end stage. No one could have known. I let him have some chocolate and sent him off into the light.
