Rivian is building something special: vehicle, compute, software, and manufacturing in the US all working together. Excited to partner with @Rivian and @RJScaringe to bring autonomous R2 robotaxis to @Uber.
RJ Scaringe@RJScaringe

I’m excited to announce a partnership with @Uber. As part of this, Uber plans to invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian and deploy up to 50,000 R2 robotaxis. This partnership accelerates our path to Level 4 autonomy and supports our goal of building one of the safest autonomous platforms in the world—across both shared and personally owned vehicles. The combination of Rivian’s rapidly growing data flywheel, our in-house RAP1 inference platform (800 TOPS), and our multi-modal perception stack provides a powerful foundation to scale autonomy quickly and responsibly over the next couple of years.

@LasagneWest Same.. there was a group at PIR that charged $220 and ran 10-15 days (rainy weather most of the year so short season) but now they’re 1-2x per season and the main group charges $600. Buttonwillow is a 15 hour trip but that’ll be my go-to since they’re still $200-300

@Skate_a_book Yeah it’s really insane the prices they charge. I was fortunate to have connections and didn’t have to pay anything. Oh how I miss those days 😭

A few doesn’t = 4 man, come on. But yes Twitter lets you download the video and it doesn’t give the poster credit, not that it really matters since hardly anyone will view this. Envious though, trying to get out to as many tracks as possible but it’s getting stupid expensive. $800 for a day at Pacific Raceways is heinous

It’s not a screen recording. I hit the download button. Twitter lets you do that ya know? I showed you the video because it proves you wrong I’ve worked in the racing industry and I’ve driven on some of the most famous race tracks in the US. If you think 60 mph 4 seconds before a sharp turn is too fast, I guarantee you drive like a grandpa lol

I’m so tired of seeing people talk shit about FSD. I bought a Tesla because a human driver plowed into my Audi why I was sitting at a stop light. I’m just sitting at a light then bam a Honda civic is shoved up my ass at 45 mph. Either shut the fuck up about FSD or we need to just remove cars all together.

To call Elon Musk a POS just because of that gesture, unless you're ready to expand your argument with actual evidence, is preposterous. Nazism is defined by racial purity, territorial conquest, militarism, and genocidal ideology. Unless you can demonstrate that Musk is (or was) a member of any Nazi organization, or that he's actively promoted those core tenets with explicit Nazi intent, you have zero substance. Absolutely nothing. Worse, casually slapping the 'Nazi' label on him dilutes the term and dishonors the millions who suffered and died under real genocidal maniacs... including Holocaust survivors who are still alive today. Imagine equating a controversial hand motion with the machinery of industrialized murder.

@rautakansleri_ @darkxevon @grok DBE does not mean miracle advances for the end user. Marginally improvement in capacity and charging speed, benefits are mostly seen at the manufacturer level with reduced. Still very, very far behind China.

This post was really eye opening today. People love to criticize the media for lying and throw around the term FUD. However, they themselves were using incorrect facts. Many in the Tesla community who thought they were the media proved they're just as bad as the people they criticize. Details in the 🧵👇🏻
Chad Moran@ChadMoran

Here's the original video, which looks like it's actual speed. I used two markers and consistently measured it. It took 75 frames in a 30 FPS video to travel 212.63 ft equating to 57.9 MPH (probably 60). The incident occurred in August of 2025. These are just facts. Yes the driver should have intervened sooner. Yes, FSD was approaching way too fast.

@Skate_a_book Rivian: out of a years worth of charging on average people charge only 10 times at fast chargers. The rest is at home. 😊 This is mine:

@LasagneWest God job screen recording and posting someone else’s content. But no, 60 mph a few seconds before a 15 mph corner isn’t okay for a public road. I track my Model 3 and that’s what I’d do on a closed course, not in a lumbering opposite-of-agile truck

@jdreimanis With my logic the Tesla Semi (even in final production form factor at charges worse than a Chinese sedan with a BYD battery capable of mW charging.

@jdreimanis End user doesn’t care about efficiency, that’s an investor talking point. Does a Model 3 do 440 miles or does it even actually do the range it’s advertised at? Not a once in a 2018 3, 2016 X or 2023 X of my ownership history has it met advertised range. BMW’s exceed EPA rating.

I absolutely do. And when you have a 110kWh battery pack in an i3 that only does 440 mi range, that is incredibly inefficient. The 400kW charge rate capability is enabled by the fact the pack has such a large energy capacity. Reduce the energy capacity to 75kWh and it wouldn’t be capable of 400kW charge rate. Model 3 equivalent is LR is 75-80kWh and has a longer range.
