Ron Howard’s been front of mind lately & his film Parenthood might be the most optimistic film he’s ever released. I can’t begin to describe how great every last actor is in this film- from Steve Martin to Rick Moranis. This movie is a time machine back to the early 90s.

The directors talk about this on their audio commentary. They say upfront that there was no way for them to make a satisfying design for the Prince because they’ve spent 90 minutes trying to convince you to like this one guy only to be told at the end, actually it’s this guy

The final scene of Babylon (2022) goes for something huge, that montage running through film history, cutting across eras and formats, and it lands as one of the most audacious swings in recent cinema.

Given that Rocky Horror on stage and in cinemas is known for wild audience participation, how do you feel about the Broadway revival discouraging it? Given that this is a different production to the one people know and it is live theatre, I get it in this case.

@edwardbrgr I think the reason why he was such a great match for this material is because he can relate so strongly to this character and the process of trying to get your art out into the world. I don’t know how would fare taking on other material as a director.

The saddest part about Disney's "live-action" remakes isn't that they're bland and cynical cash grabs by safety-obsessed executives out of good ideas. It's that the good ideas--the Lion Kings, Hunchbacks, and Aladdins of today--are still being pitched. They're just voted down.
