It is disgusting for the Minstry to lose billions of shilling and then those in charge of the Ministry to shamelessly play innocent. The fact that the scandal happened means the Cabinet Secretary is involved or he is not in full control of what is happening in the Ministry. Whichever of the two, he has to go.

Another weekend, another female murdered in Mombasa. Witnesses say a middle aged woman’s body was found yesterday in Senti Kumi area of Likoni having been dumped there by unknown persons. Police and officers from the DCI arrived at the scene, took evidence then moved the body to Coast General Hospital mortuary. Last weekend, the body of 11 years old was found dumped in a thicket in Kisauni. No suspects have been arrested. We condemn the rising cases of femicide being reported in Mombasa and demand that action be taken urgently to end them.

The court has made a ruling today on the two miscellaneous applications. On the first application the court has allowed the DCI to remain with Mwabili’s phone in order to investigate his X account. on the second application, the court has declined the ODPP request and has set free Mwabili but have directed that he reports every day at 9am with his lawyer for seven days.
