The new Portal North Bridge is up and running! We promised to deliver a reliable, faster ride by March 15 – and we’re delivering. Starting this Monday, trains out of New York City will travel over this new bridge. The old bridge, which more than 200,000 commuters relied on daily, will be phased out by fall. Thank all the laborers, engineers, electrical workers, crews from @NJTRANSIT, @Amtrak, and more – who showed up every day, rain and shine, to deliver this project on time for passengers.

New Jerseyans gave me a mandate to challenge the status quo. That’s exactly what my budget does. I’m cutting the structural deficit nearly in half while investing in solutions to make our state more affordable, protect kids online, and improve government accountability.

Sherrill on Gateway Tunnel: This should be something that any president should welcome. And yet instead, we see the president attacking it. First he did because he wanted some DEI changes. And then he wanted DHS funding. And then he wanted Penn Station and Dulles Airport named after him. And when people would say to me, “Why don’t you just do it?” I found that offensive. Because this isn’t his money. This is the people’s money. This is money that Congress said should be put to work for the people of this country. It isn’t his money to leverage for his own personal desires. So it was illegal, and I said, “No, I’m not playing ball here. If you keep withholding the money, we’re going to court.” And we did.

Throughout my time in government, I’ve never gotten as close to a colleague as I have with Dan. He gives 110% to everything he does. He puts the team ahead of himself, is completely selfless, and genuinely cares about doing what is right and just for the people we serve. He’s always prepared—seriously, you should see his binder and the notes he brings to voting session. Dan puts more time into being a legislator and serving the public than most people will ever see. Decisions like this are never easy, but Dan has always been someone who puts his family first. He’s an incredible father, loves his wife Karen dearly, and recently became a proud grandpop. His family means everything to him, and right now he’s making some personal decisions about what the future looks like for them. While I wish we had more time, Dan was always honest with me that this was never meant to be a long-term thing. He wanted to come in, do the job he was elected to do, serve the people the right way, and if he had the time and opportunity, do it again. But the reality is that campaigns and public service take a real toll on time with family—and that matters. This isn’t goodbye. We’ve still got a lot of work to do over the next two years, and I’m proud to serve alongside him. I see firsthand the work he puts in every day—the time he takes out of his personal schedule to meet with people, listen to their concerns, and try to help however he can. Even when an issue isn’t something he can directly handle, he still goes above and beyond to make sure people get the help they need. Dan never complains. He shows up, does the work, and fights for the people he cares about. He’s never chased the spotlight—he just works behind the scenes to get things done. You can see that in the legislation we’ve been able to accomplish over the last two years. I’m proud to call Dan not just my colleague in the Fourth District, but my friend. The President illegally canceled the most important infrastructure project in the nation. We took him to court. We won. A judge ordered him to release the money. Last night, the Court again said: pay up. Enough is enough. Release the funds now.

The New Jersey Governor's Press Office is going to eat all other governors' press offices for breakfast. I know we're all on the same side, but NJ will be the dominant player. That's just factual.

Thanks to President Trump’s decision to illegally freeze funding for the Gateway Tunnel, 1,000 hardworking men and women were laid off on Friday. I will not back down until funding has been restored and the project is done.

Ring and its competitors have always creeped me out, but this is actually terrifying
