What I really like about Crimson Desert is the random things that can happen while you’re just walking through the open world, like the moment in this video.
I can’t even tell if it’s a quest, a dynamic event, or the game’s way of stopping you from entering an area too early.
That unpredictability is what makes open‑world games fun, and if studios want to make open‑world games, they should put real resources into these kinds of dynamic events.

Thinking it was something I could use to decorate the camp, I purchased two.

@K__Med It doesn’t take 8 hours. You can streamline chapter 1 in like 2 or 3 if not less, at most and get access to all parts of the skill tree. Once you jump off the first abyss level the game says you are free to explore.

Still about 7 hours too long before it gets good and it's not like there's a build up for story purposes or anything to keep the carrot on a stick either.
Wonder if they can do anything to change the onboarding and get you into shit like this, sooner.

Crimson Desert Patch 1.0.3 is out now:

Getting called dumb for this but it’s just bad design. I stick the arrow in, nothing happens. No feedback I’m close enough or doing it right. I try a different spot. The bezier falls over. I try another. My character bumps it and puts his bow down. No light. The only interact is to turn it off. I give in and google it. I was right the first time. The video is flooded with comments complaining about the same experience. The game has little issues like this that detract from the fun. @OhNoItsAlexx I've only played an hour of Crimson Desert and I love it so far. It reminds me of Morrowind where it only gave the bare minimum to guide the player; no yellow paint, no voice to say what to do next, just a target on your minimap and your critical thinking skills.
