BREAKING: PCE inflation, the Fed’s preferred inflation metric, FALLS to 3.8%, below expectations of 4.6%. Core PCE inflation is now at 4.6%, also below expectations of 4.7%. This is the largest monthly drop this year. The Fed may finally be winning the fight against inflation.

@ki_young_ju Lovely stat but the more ETH that gets staked the lower the yield. Also, most of the staked ETH is liquid, meaning stakers can transact with their coins.

This week has seen a gold rush of spot Bitcoin ETF applications lead by Blackrock, the largest global asset manager. In response, BTC has rallied from $25k to over $31k, reaching new yearly highs. The rally was led by traders in US 🔵,followed by traders in EU 🟠,and lastly in Asia 🔴.

The arguments against Bitcoin are waning, especially with the stamp of approval recently given by the largest financial institutions on Earth. If this inaudible nonsense is the best criticism that bears can come up with, we are going so much higher.

@ecoinometrics BTC will no doubt benefit from the launch of an ETF as it will bring in more demand to the market. However, do you think narratives drive price or price drives narratives?

How much Bitcoin growth can really come out of some BlackRock BTC ETF? I’ve seen the comparison made to the introduction of the GLD ETF for gold in the 2000s. But when you look at it closer the gold bull market of the 2000s had more to do with macro than the introduction of GLD specifically (checkout today’s edition of the newsletter if you want the details). So by analogy maybe we shouldn’t expect too much of a Bitcoin ETF alone. A Bitcoin ETF plus some favourable macro environment though… that’s a better story!
