The "unless the effect's creator can somehow see you" is a rule reference that points to nothing. What are the restrictions on being seen? The condition says nothing. RAW, invisible creatures follow the same sight rules. Nothing says that a creature cannot see you.

It's critical for a system designer to understand what each part of the system is meant to do. Take for instance invisibility in D&D 5.5. Here's what the invisibility spell says. Seems simple, right? We just need to look up the invisible condition to figure out what's going on.
