My Take The researcher made the papers as obviously fake as possible on purpose. The AI systems didn't catch it. Neither did the human researchers who cited it in real journals, which means people are feeding AI-generated references into their work without reading what they're actually citing. I've covered the FDA using AI for drug review, the NYC hospital CEO ready to replace radiologists, and ChatGPT Health launching this year. All of that is happening in the same environment where a condition funded by a Simpsons character and endorsed by the crew of the Enterprise was being presented as emerging medical consensus. The people making these deployment decisions seem to believe the pipeline from research to AI to patient is more supervised than it actually is. I was talking to Dana Gray yesterday. She is serving life without the possibility of parole in CCWF. She is getting older and has a higher level of medical issues. She’s waiting on a couple of surgeries and is not feeling well after having her prescription for an anti seizure med abruptly stopped, despite the medical recommendation of never abruptly stopping this med. She fell even deeper in the doldrums after a quick run in with a trans identified male prisoner, who is also older and waiting on a major surgery. She asked how he was doing and feeling. He said he was recovering from surgery and she said oh that’s great, so they took care of your back? No. No. He’s recovering from a facial feminization procedure. A non life saving, elective procedure that falls under the umbrella of transgender healthcare, was prioritized over his other pre-existing medical needs and prioritized over every need of every woman in that prison. If we don’t end this in the prisons, we are doomed.

They conned enough primary voters into believing the electorate would reject him in the general, even though polls showed the opposite.

@jeremyslevin I think we have to question how these polls are done. How is it that Bernie is always popular in polls, but loses in Presidential elections? Either the polls are faulty or people might like him but don't think he'll get anything done so they don't vote for him in elections.
