@EddieWr99671067 I’m not sure how it’ll cope in these much cooler temperatures now then. Not well perhaps. I saw a peacock, holly blue and a speckled wood on Tuesday and Wednesday but you’d expect to see those on warm spring days.

Rather earlier than expected to see a Gatekeeper Butterfly today in the garden. Its been 21 Celsius today and this Butterfly don't generally show until mid June at the earliest.

@WriterHannahBT @networkrail @DeborahPitman I’ve just emailed him. It’s vital any work considers the needs of any wildlife that uses the space. They should feel lucky swifts nest there and not consider it a hindrance. They’re only here till early August after all.

@RSPCAEastWinch And blackbirds really need our help too. I hope you can manage to hand rear them. As a professional gardener I always try to spread the word but it’s getting the word to the more unscrupulous tree companies and fly by night ‘gardeners’ that is the challenge. Maybe license them?

Heartbreaking.. 😭 These 4 nestling blackbirds were brought to us still in their nest, after the tree was chopped down and the parents never returned 😞 While gardening, if you find a nest, it is against the law to disturb the nest if it is active. Please stop any work #birds

Come for a walk with me.. Most people will find this walk and view boring, but for me, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world... the Somerset Levels, large flat expanse of mainly open, damp countryside, few people, few buildings... just quietness and nature.. ❤️

@ARCAngela0519 So sorry to hear of your sudden loss. We lost our cat Luna aged 7 in January after a short battle with large cell lymphoma. It’s very hard when you’re so close isn’t it but time will ease the pain I hope and perhaps you’ll have room for another kitty in your life before too long

My cat died today. Suddenly. Very traumatically. I can’t have kids, and he was literally my everything. He followed me everywhere, really. I can’t believe he just won’t be here to do our routine in the morning, or any other morning. I thought we had so much more time. 💔

We’ve raised serious concerns that TfL has not done enough to inform residents about plans to lower the speed limit on a busy stretch of the A316 to 30mph - with no extra warning signs planned when the change comes into force tomorrow (20 March).

@CarlBovisNature Gorgeous. A couple of years ago a Red Kite stopped traffic along a major road swooping to feast on some roadkill. Gross/amazing to witness.

An osprey likely miscalculated, fell, and drowned. It was exhausted. Its feathers aren't waterproof, like those of ducks, and they get so soaked that they prevent it from flying. This couple rescued it with a life preserver. It clung on by itself.

A really well received talk to a group in New York last night…some glorious emails this morning. So a bit of a late start..and I am off to Ikea for breakfast and some reality…enjoy the final days of my garden before clearing it all away..

@buitengebieden I went to a flying experience at Feathers & Fur falconry centre near Bracknell in Feb. I got to experience a snowy owl & a barn owl flying to my hand + others. It was great. They had little owls too but weren’t flying them that day. I didn’t know that owls only see black & white!

@CarlBovisNature Do you promote your shop on any other platform? Increasing numbers of people seem to be leaving X. I wonder if it has the same reach in the UK as it used to. That or perhaps people are worrying about the effect of T’s war on prices etc.

@Keir_Starmer For what it’s worth u’re right. Don’t be drawn into an unwinnable war that Trump alone decided to unleash bcos that was to protect his interests not ours or Europe’s & may not work anyway. Stand up to him. In the end it’ll be better for everyone. He needs to stop war mongering

Just a 'record shot', but I whilst I was waiting for the Owls to put in an appearance at Steart Marshes on Saturday, I was amazed to see this little bird fly low across a field and land in a small patch of brambles... it's a rare Dartford Warbler! 😲😍🐦
