The reality is he would never decide to erase CSM on his own.

CSM doesn't stop him from developing (as shown in him breaking free from Makima), he should have been the one to decide to erase CSM, that way he would show growth and the ending wouldn't stink for a deus ex machina

There is this narrative going around that people who didn’t like the ending of CSM just wanted to see Denji be Chainsaw Man, kill all devils, get the girl and save the day. Which is just untrue Part 1 is masterful because Denji doesn’t get everything he wants in the end but makes a choice to stop Makima and learn from his experience with her. He has to think beyond the easy gratification he could have gotten from being Makimas toy. He decides how to beat her. That’s all I wanted. For him to learn, grow and choose how to solve his own problems along with Asa. Not for the story to just say “that was too hard to do and none of it matters anyway so goodbye forever”

Denji wins because of his strengths, not CSM's 2)who cares about worldly changes? The issue is Denji's personal change which doesn't need Pochita, this is what's missing from the story in Part 2

@no1doomsoldier @alchemyjirachi Power is attracted to dogs now, which was out of character for her in part 1 but we can infer that it’s because of her relationship with Denji. Nayuta replaced makima in PS because CSM no longer exists meaning that there was no drive for the control devil to keep going (makima)-

If Denji had said "damn Pochita, you know, I realize that all my problems exist because of Chainsaw Man" and Pochita said "yeah, maybe it was better before" and then they decided to erase, it would be a good ending because it shows development
