NRCC 35 in Slovakia: Strengthening NATO’s Eastern Flank 🇸🇰🛡️ The NATO Regional Cooperation Course 35 continued its Field Study in #Slovakia for a deep dive into national defence and strategy, hosted by the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic. 🇸🇰➡️🤝 The 36 Course Members, 27 from Partners and 9 from NATO Allies, discussed Slovakia’s NATO & EU‑anchored strategy, its clear commitments on #defencespending, new armament and #research, the impact of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and reinforcing cyberspace defence. 💡🌍 They examined national defence planning, Slovak #defence #industry projects, and the modernization of a professional armed force, in addition to Slovakia’s key role on NATO’s #easternflank, its strengths in ammunition production, air defence, and mobility, and the importance of cohesion, #readiness, and crisis communication. 🇸🇰🛡️ Many thanks to the Slovak expert speakers for an inspiring and highly informative day! 🇸🇰❤️ We look forward our Slovak Allies joining us in celebrating the NATO Defense College's 75th foundation anniversary and 60th relocation to Rome at our special event on 16 July at the College! #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether #NDC75

With bitterness, sadness, and condemnation, we commemorate the fourth anniversary of Russia's war against Ukraine. A war that has brought devastation, suffering, and death to hundreds of thousands of soldiers on both sides of the frontline. A war that has destroyed the lives of innocent families and forced many to seek refuge abroad. I appreciate that many of them have found shelter and a chance for a peaceful life in Slovakia. It is high time to end this tragedy as soon as possible through diplomatic negotiations that will lead to the establishment of a just, lasting, and sustainable 🕊️ peace. This #peace should provide real guarantees that fighting will not resume and simultaneously open the path for Ukraine to achieve peaceful prosperity and create conditions for starting accession talks for its entry into the 🇪🇺 #EU. #Diplomacy must be the only means of resolving any issues in the relationship between 🇸🇰 #Slovakia and 🇺🇦 #Ukraine.

Na vojnovom cintoríne La Targette pri Neuville-Saint-Vaast odpočíva 206 Slovákov a Čechov 🇸🇰 🇨🇿 padlých na západnom fronte počas oboch svetových vojen. Medzi nimi ČS legionári z rokov 1914–18 aj vojaci, ktorí zahynuli v bitke o 🇫🇷 (1940) a počas obliehania Dunkerque (1944–45).

The Ring of Remembrance commemorates soldiers who lost their lives in the Nord Pas-de-Calais region during the WW1. Names of 580.000 🇧🇪, 🇬🇧, 🇫🇷, 🇩🇪 and 🇵🇹 are listed in alphabetical order, without nationality, and remind us the importance of D&D in the name of ensuring peace.

Excellent meeting with Mr. Turner on Ukraine’s security, urgent energy needs & winter resilience. Discussed how Slovakia can boost support — from emergency electricity & generators to NATO mechanisms. Proud a Slovak officer will serve as NATO Military Liaison Officer. 🇸🇰🇺🇦

During the last two days, the 32 Allies of #NATO met in the Chiefs of Defence format in Brussels, to discuss our unified military approach to the security developments of our time. Through SACEUR’s assessment of readiness, deterrence and defence, and SACT’s views on near and far future, we communicate to our citizens and the rest of the world that we are ready for the present and we are prepared for whatever lies on the horizon. Our focus on partnerships, from across the globe, also demonstrates our understanding that our security is global and interconnected, and #NATO must reflect on this reality. And our support for #Ukraine through initiatives like NSATU, JATEC and PURL, continues to grow, showing that our unity and determination are more than words. From our discussions, three main conclusions stand out: We are #united. We are #resilient. We are #dynamic, as we #adapt succesfully, while we #deter effectively! #StrongerTogether #SlavaUkraïni

Today, I received the NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe Geneneral Alexus Grynkewich @SHAPE_NATO We discussed the ongoing #NATO's adaptation as Europe takes more responsibility for european security, and strenghtening the NATO’s eastern flank. I confirmed that Slovakia 🇸🇰, as reliable ally, continues in modernization of Slovakia's armed forces to support collective efforts.

🇸🇰 Minister J. Blanár is representing Slovakia at the meeting of foreign ministers of the @NATO member states. The agenda includes strengthening the collective defence of the Allies, prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, cooperation with Indo-Pacific partners, and the situation in the Western Balkans @Slovakia_NATO

Glad to be in Bratislava to meet Prime Minister @RobertFicoSVK. Slovakia has been a valued Ally for over 20 years, hosting one of our multinational Forward Land Forces. Thank you for your contributions to our collective security.
