@Someone58162111 @SDSLLC_USA The only exception to that is that, if you have a really high revolving credit usage, one that's detrimental to your score, paying off things can improve your score because it makes you less of a risk. If you have good credit, paying things off hurts

@SDSLLC_USA That's how it works now. You are penalized for paying anything off. My daughter paid off one card because it only had about $300 used on it. She got hit with 40 point drop because of it.

Can someone explain this to me like I'm 5 years old? Last month I paid off a credit card, no high balance at all. Two weeks ago I paid off another credit card, no high balance at all. These are the only two credit cards that I have. Why did my credit score drop dramatically?

@MrsMagdaBeard My dad's 2006 Dodge Ram is worth more now with 50k miles than he bought it for. It's insane.

Nope, I'm with the kids on this one. The prices of used cars right now is absolutely outrageous. Yeah, no one is entitled to a new car, 100%, but anything over 100k miles is going to be an absolute money pit. Not even 10 years ago I got a Mazda 3 with 7K (yes, 7000) miles on it for 15k. I still have it. Same car now would be well over 20k. This affects ALL of us. They want you to lease cars. Eventually, they want you to share cars. You will own nothing and be happy.
LibertyJ@LibertyJen

This was legit a 5 second search on Auto Trader. All these cars have less than 200k miles. All under $7k

@KalanisCalves So, now you have $1.5M in revenue but only $250k in expenses, so the company makes $1.25M. but you have to pay the other 9 PTs. You pay them $100k each, now you have $350k left for you. Very over simplified, but that's why businesses have to get taxed.

@KalanisCalves Let's say the revenue is $150k per PT but you have $50k in expenses for equipment, insurance, rent, etc. which leaves you with a $100k before taxes and probably $70k after. If you start a company and have 10 PTs working for that company, those expenses might only go up 5 times.

This is what our society fails to comprehend. If I work as a physical therapist, and I’m good, I’ll make $100,000/yr. And pay $15,000 in taxes. I can see 60 patients per week. But that’s the end of it. No additional tax money, no more patients can get my services. I provide a living for myself and my family. If I own a practice and employee 10 therapists that each make $100,000, now I’m providing a living for 10 families, and because of my efforts there is now $250,000 in tax revenue. So why should businesses get taxed more? Why should they even have to pay payroll taxes? My value to society is way more than 10X at this point. But the vast majority of Americans can’t comprehend that, neither do our congressional representatives.

wow I'm genuinely shocked SNL was allowed to say this during their annual "joke swap" bit on Weekend Update Michael Che reading what Colin Jost wrote for him: "The movie 'Michael' won the box office again this weekend, and since a few members of the Jackson family are actually in the audience tonight I wanted to take a minute to tell everybody what I really think. Michael Jackson did nothing wrong! He was right to molest all those kids! And they were lucky. I would have paid him to do it. And I did! That's right. When I was 10 years old Michael Jackson molested ME, and the only thing it gave me was a fetish for middle-aged white women."

@Blacklib1978 @Sheena_Marie3 There are plenty of photos documenting other kids doing similar things and, as you said, they didn't get DQ'd. The rules only applying to some is the horrible example

@Sheena_Marie3 More than 100+ kids at that meet celebrating all day long within the rules ... nobody else got a warning or DQ ... implying rules don't apply if you win is horrible example ... should have taken 5 seconds of self discipline to walk off the track and then celebrate

Hi there Rusty! I not only competed - I won 11 NCHSAA state titles (1 in basketball as a Freshman 😊) It is truly a judgment call as the infraction was not judged uniformly through all the state meets. I said what I said; agree to disagree and enjoy your week!
Rusty May@RustyMay14

@Sheena_Marie3 You competed in track and field. You should be explaining the HIGH SCHOOL rules for unsportsmanlike conduct instead of barking about judgement calls. What you reference in other meets is a weak argument and disingenuous

@AaronGogley @EsquireT3 The "warning" came on something that did occur after the race. So no, waiting until after the race wouldn't have gotten him off the hook. He couldn't celebrate at all. If the official says you need to break the rules, do you do what they say or follow the rules?

@EsquireT3 If you do it before the end of the race, it very well could. Learn the rules, follow the officials instructions, and celebrate afterwards. Not hard.

Again. That’s not the only rule. You cannot use any gesture that brings discredit to yourself or the sport and more importantly “Unacceptable conduct by a competitor includes, but is not limited to: willful failure to follow the directions of a meet official•
Jonathan Jones@jjones9

Taunting and celebrating aren't the same thing. Setting a record and winning a state title allows you to celebrate as long as it's not at the expense of your opponent.

@GregoryAnugo @Jeeveso2 @BLKLiberation84 @SpencerAlthouse Witnesses and, with the lack of physical evidence, testimony was all they had. The case fell apart because of a mother's testimony and subsequent cross examination. Her being a bad witness doesn't mean she was lying, just that the jury didn't believe her.

@GregoryAnugo @Jeeveso2 @BLKLiberation84 @SpencerAlthouse 1. Those agencies took the case to court, meaning they believed there was enough evidence to convict. 2. A "Not Guilty" verdict doesn't mean the person didn't do it. Look at OJ Simpson. 3. Child cases like this are not easy to prosecute. Children are often seen as unreliable

@Tanks4that1 @JudgeBobOrr But you could have avoided this by locking your doors". One, it's not necessarily true. Two, that doesn't make the ruling any less egregiously wrong.

@Tanks4that1 @JudgeBobOrr I guess you didn't read that the first offense came after the race was over. So no, even if he celebrated afterward, that would have been at risk. The rules are clear and he didn't break them. What you are saying is akin to "yeah, that person shouldn't have robbed your house

@SportsTalk_304 @EsquireT3 We've all been in a game where the ref is out to screw your team in particular. That kid could have probably just smiled and been DQ'd. Neither the first or second celebration is a violation by the official rules.

@EsquireT3 I agree, but also as an athlete you've got to know better. In basketball if a ref calls the game close, you know not to push it. Running into bad officiating is just part of being an athlete and something you need to adapt to

@Tanks4that1 @JudgeBobOrr How many times do you see people across all eras of history, cultures, and sports throw up their hands in celebration moments before winning? How many of them were DQ'd? This is clearly an official overstepping his bounds

@JudgeBobOrr Just win the race then celebrate. Doing anything outside of a normal running movement seems like taunting. Doesn’t seem too disrespectful but if you just win the race then celebrate you don’t have to deal with this.
