@TrentKnoop Spread offense and physicality/winning trenches don’t go together. A lot of coaches make this mistake. It all goes together you need a more physical system to become physical and attract the talent, etc. As soon as you go spread and shotgun, etc. it changes everything.

After digesting Kyle Whittingham's press conference, here are some takeaways
- He's a young 66-year-old that has a lot 'left in the tank'... Could coach another 5-10 years for Michigan
- After coaching 21 years, Whittingham appears to have untapped energy
- Physicality, winning in the trenches, and running the football will be the focal points.. Sound familiar?
- 'spread offense' is refreshing for those who want to see an updated offense in Ann Arbor
- Bryce Underwood and Whittingham's 45-minute meeting was 'great' and sounds like Whittingham is sold on what Underwood will be able to do in his offense
- He didn't try to win the press conference, but Whittingham unequivocally won it
- Whittingam is exactly what Michigan needed post Sherrone Moore -- stability is the best word to use
- Assuming he gets his coaches hired soon, guessing Michigan retains most of its main core for next season

I really hope people can read this and truly appreciate what Ryan Day has done at OSU.
Ryan Day was co-OC in 2017 and OC in 2018 before he took over in 2019. OSU is the only head coaching position he has ever had and he has been exceptional.

Idc if I’m beating a dead horse here. This started with the incompetent hire of Sherrone Moore in the first place. A coach that was completely unqualified and unprepared to get a job this big. You put the entire future of the program in jeopardy just to save one year of player continuity. Not doing a national coaching search after Harbaugh left was nothing short of incompetent. They handled the keys to the program to a guy who had 2 years of co-offensive coordinator experience and only one year of play calling experience. It never made sense.
