Banal but vital point amid all the chaos: London in the sun. It is just unbeatable.

@friebos rode the 247km Flanders route on Saturday in what I think is the closest I could get to the casquette Tom Simpson wore in 1961. So niche not many have appreciated 😂🦁🙏 @cycling_podcast

P&O Ferries Travel Updates
P&O Ferries Travel Updates@POferriesupdate·
🚨 #POCalais 🚨 There are currently large queues at both Check-in and Border Controls. Vehicles are queuing past the check in booths. It is currently taking approximately 180 minutes to reach our booths, and a further 180 minutes for Border Controls. We advise that you plan ahead for a prolonged wait. The teams are working hard to get customers processed as quickly as possible. Rest assured, we will get you on the next available sailing once you reach the loading lanes. Thank you for your patience.

@POferriesupdate They are filtering cars that are just turning up down the right hand lanes which means the cars in main long lanes that have been here longer aren’t getting anywhere

@danielstorey85 @bazzdgrogan @gazalandkay Rooney 2003/04 must be pretty close. Shevchenko won Ballon D’Or. Ronaldinho probably the closest to Wazza. Pre injury at Euro 2004 he was the best player in the world.

@bazzdgrogan @gazalandkay Don't think Rooney was really, because of Messi/Ronaldo age. Lineker and Robson the same with Maradona and others. Keegan possibly for one season but I wouldn't say yes. Charlton the closest.

Many remarkable moments in the Pog story but that took the cake. MSR was a sort of quasi-religious crusade, more than just a goal, but it had also become an unsolvable maths problem. Seemed everything had to go right - & yet he did it when all seemed to turn fatally against him.

@molineuxmusings “Lads, you know that system we never play and have never worked on, and the press that we never practice, yeah do that. It will probably work. Dont worry about the fact we have hit the post, scored and hit the bar within the space of the last 15mins.”

@SmudgetheNudge Isn’t it? I’ve not ignored the context of the rest of the match. I’m basing on what I’m watching. And my assumption is based on understanding how teams press from different set ups. I’d like to hear about the situations you’re referring to post Tolu’s chance as well.

Why haven’t we gone to a back 4 in the last 10? The back three allowed them safe possession. Brentford were done at 2-2 and I’m sorry, but draws mean nothing except for maintaining a sense of competitiveness about the end of our season. Am I being unreasonable?

@molineuxmusings Seem to recall we could have won the game in the last minute from the break away.

@molineuxmusings A formation we never play. To try to press, when we aren’t a pressing team, at a point in the game we are on top having to come from 2 nil down, with 13mins left. Can’t see the sense at all.

@molineuxmusings They were exposed to that point by us playing that system. Your assumption that we could do better and press better with 4 at the back is based on nothing. We still made chances and got into threatening positions after Tolu hit the bar. Lack of quality the issue not the system

@SmudgetheNudge Watch the game back from the point Tolu hits the bar onwards. You can see the players are stuck between a rock and a hard place with the way they press. But Brentford were totally exposed and we let them off the hook by not pressing higher. An extra forward player solves that.

@SmudgetheNudge @wolvespremier Fair enough mate, I’m not trying to persuade you otherwise. I went to the game and it didn’t sour it for me. Still buzzing 🧡⚽️

Not sure why supporters are getting all bent up over this. The journo was pushing him and he’s quite right that there are certain times when the players really need us behind them in key moments. Equally RE was honest that we haven’t had much to cheer about this season and that is purely indicative and a knock-on effect of where we are and he can understand why it’s been flat. I’d prefer honesty like this from the man at the helm.

@BenThorne01 @wolvespremier How about saying I should have JRB close down Rice much quicker, or I shouldn’t allow my defence to let the littlest man on the pitch head it by his knee in the middle of the goal six yards out. Nope. The fan need to understand we are playing Arsenal. Poor

@BenThorne01 @wolvespremier Edwards litterally did blame us for not being optimistic at 1-0 down, about 5 minutes after the game. Was absolutely no need to do that. Read the room mate. Soured one of the only positive points of the season.

@wolvespremier Yeah I don’t take any offence at that either - you can hear from he is trying to say. I don’t really agree with him saying it was a really good performance. It looked oddly disjointed and timid in the first half. It’s a funny ol’ game though - what an ending! 🙌🏻🧡🤩

VAR will never be scrapped. NEVER. The gulf between those who loftily rule over football and those who pay to watch it has never been bigger. They simply do not acknowledge us. It's almost Victorian in its contempt for the masses. How did this happen?
