@LesleyBeau60 I'm kinda wishing the Yantar disobeyed and had to deal with the consequences.

🇬🇧💪 Guys, you're not going to believe this (or maybe you will) but apparently the ‘main bastards’ are not just manipulating Zelensky but also Putin… and are about to manipulate Trump!
Well-known Russian political blogger Anatoly Nesmiyan wrote the following post in response to the news that British officers believe that if Trump ends the war in Ukraine quickly, it would allow Russia to regroup and strike again:
“There are a lot of questions here at once. They all stem from a common understanding of what is happening.
Great Britain has long been a non-military country, the army and generals play a very secondary role in it. In fact, the army is just a place where another prince undergoes a mandatory ritual of military service. Well, that is the rule.
But at the same time, Great Britain is a country of powerful special services. Including the military ones.
The English aristocracy (not those butts who sit in parliament and become ministers, but the real aristocracy, the British Deep State) - are concentrated in various special services and intelligence agencies.
Periodically, a representative from that environment is “thrown” into politics, but in general, these guys rule from behind the lines.
The entire policy of Great Britain after it ceased to be a superpower and gave way to the United States (by the way, that’s why the army ceased to play a leading role in the aristocratic community, as it was responsible for lowering the level of England in the world) - in general, its entire policy is a continuous chain of special operations.
With periodic breakthroughs and phantom pains of the imperial past like the War for the Falklands. But in general, British politics are the policies of special services.
Therefore, most likely, this message should be read as that the highest ranks of the special services are against the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict since it was Great Britain that did more for it than anyone else.
This is their project, and the direct participants are just pawns in the hands of professionals of the highest level.
Well, a former clown cannot compete with these pros, and so cannot a former warden of snitches (of course, our geopolitician has never engaged in any intelligence work, since in principle he could not do it, being in a completely different KGB department. Only later, the sycophants invented his heroic biography and feats of a titan standing alone with a service pistol against a crowd of 5,000 Germans).
The pros put up a show in Bucha and disrupted the Istanbul agreements. Pros disrupted negotiations somewhere in an Arab country by organizing an invasion of the Kursk region.
There are no doubts that they will stick a thick bar into the wheels of any of Trump’s “peacekeeping” initiatives.
They have a completely different idea of the SMO goals, and if something goes according to plan, it is clearly according to their plan, not according to anyone else’s plan.
I think that Trump wouldn't be able to handle these people, as he has extensive experience in different fields, but not in this one for sure.”

@TimothyDSnyder It's a good idea, but because parties in America are so much weaker, there's no strong leader of the opposition party to name a shadow cabinet.
English

@DisavowTrump20 Oddly enough, I agree with her. It's a bunch of people getting benefits they knew they weren't getting when they signed up for their jobs, and it'll make social security run dry even faster than it already is.
English

@HDruzin Following you here, Heath, and value your work. But mostly I'm doing a fade from Twitter. There are a lot of us at other places and you might find more of an audience there.

Wolfe is a leading Christian nationalist and like many others the movement he is openly against democracy. He was a senior Trump administration official & is likely to be again. He’s one of many CN leaders I talked to in my reporting for Extremely American npr.org/podcasts/51038…

@Skjaldmaer1 @JosiahHawthorne Thanks! I think we just followed each other.

@ArseGrammatica @NPR and @Guardian weren't bad. Media is like social media: we ought to expect to have to pay for it if we want it to be good.
English

Which news source do you think sucked the least during this past #election?
I mean least in terms of hopium, in terms of not just assuring us that all was well, minimizing voters legitimate (and illegitimate) concerns, actually presenting truth?
Whom can we trust going forward?
English

@leslea61 Following you there under a different name. I didn't like the one I picked here.

@lbary Karma works in strange ways. The football team is probably the only thing at LSU Landry cares about.
English

Governor Landry tortured a tiger for this game and LSU lost. I hope they just say no next time but I am not holding my breath, their administration is awful

This game was not quite as miserable as our Citrus Bowl loss to Notre Dame in 2017 but it was close. At least after that one I got to go to Disney World.

@DonnaNimmoSmith @RossKneeDeep The taxes on Social Security go to fund Social Security as part of the deal Tip O'Neil and Reagan made to save the Social Security trust fund. Stopping those taxes will make the trust fund will go bust sooner and lower the payouts. This will ruin many seniors.
English

@RossKneeDeep Trump said he wants to end taxes on social security. 🤷♀️
English

I get social security, and it's important to me. I'm lucky enough to have a pension and an IRA. Yet, many people aren't lucky enough to have both. Social security is their only form of income. What will America become if millions lose their social security and Medicare? I'm not talking about the Dumb A$$es who voted for this. F*ck them!!!
English

@TiffaniDeems I'm on Mastodon, which I realize doesn't work so well for some purposes. I'm nervous about Blue Sky because of its connections with Twitter.
English

@Notalwayswrite Similar. It was a well-run race and a good candidate.
I'd add, the journos doing post-mortems ignore their role in this result: Not reporting Trump's obvious mental deterioration and both-sidesing the issues left low-info voters not realizing how bad Trump is.
English

@Prune602 Sorry, Prune. A death in the family can come as a huge jolt.
P.S. I like your work and appreciate your efforts.
