@SnarkyMark15 @adrianweckler Battery replacement costs that outstrip the depreciated value of the vehicle making buying a second hand one a massive risk. Specialised parts that are there are very few/no after market versions for and are thus v expensive (often coming from the manufacturer with a wait time).

@adrianweckler Electrics are not going to hold value due to the prohibitive maintenance costs long term. You cant justify 50 grand on a car that has no resale value once it hits 1-150k. Combustion engines will be around for a long time until they get manufacturers on side with this.

@Independent_ie The problem with EVs is not their initial cost - but the costs associated with repairs. How the actual fuck does a damaged cooling system result in a repair bill of ***£33,000*** A 1 year old car with 5k miles written on because of a speed bump or a rogue rock 🤷
