@ThelVanDamne Defending Halo 5 is your choice, but any rational person would realize that defending a game that is generally lambasted by the rest of the community will cause said community to assume you are a shill for the devs. To them, Halo 5 represents all of what 343 did wrong with Halo.

The fact that people call me 343’s biggest glazer when I primarily talk about H5 is hilarious. I hardly talk about Halo 4, I’ve expressed how shit halo infinite is, and I made it clear that I’m never playing a HS product. Majority of them will get Campaign Evolved too

@ThelVanDamne Halo 5's story is mid, all cosmetics are randomized and tied to REQ packs, armor can only be equipped in sets, skill-based matchmaking means most lobbies can't match with each other, the first multiplayer game on boot up WON'T LOAD ON SERIES X/S. That's why Halo 5 MIGHT BE BAD.

@ThelVanDamne Nobody said you can't like Halo 5. It does do a lot of things better than Halo Infinite, but there are genuine issues with the game, its monetization and its story direction that haven't sit well with a lot of people. On Series X/S the first Multiplayer game on boot up wont load

@ThelVanDamne That also doesn't address any of the other things I mentioned either. Halo 5 is fine, but it made a lot of poor decisions like inability to customize individual armor pieces, all the unlockable items tied to the random REQ packs, the list goes on and can't be ignored.

@ThelVanDamne That being said, good luck finding a game on anything except one of the Fiesta game modes. SWAT, Infection, BTB, all tied to skill-based Matchmaking. It's not that nobody is playing them (only partially true), it's that the game will literally not match you with people.

@ZombieCupcake64 If you want to find games in Halo 5, you got to play the Fiesta game modes, as the skill-based Matchmaking isn't a factor there. Ranked Slayer also is populated, but is exceptionally sweaty and toxic. This doesn't solve the loading issues with Matchmaking on Series X/S though.

@ZombieCupcake64 Halo 5 Warzone is great fun, but it's difficult to get into because the game not only has aggressive skill-based Matchmaking but also there's an issue with the game when played on the Series X/S where the first Multiplayer game you load into on boot up will ALWAYS fail to connect

@theffapanda This might mean we're getting another Infinite update as MCC servers usually go out the weekend before an update of some sort, and they did say that The Gauntlet will be Infinite's featured playlist until May 19th, which is this upcoming Tuesday.

MCC servers are down again, but this time Infinite is also down. Curious to find out if its fixed on the weekend this time or if it sits until late Monday again.

@TileMaboy Star Fox Zero's intro is, quite literally, the same as Star Fox 64. They even use some of the same artwork for the stills. Zelda games are all different because they take place in a multiverse. Most of the Star Fox games are all the same because they are retelling 64's story.

@CottrelloVision Reboot: a brand new game that's similar but not identical to the original. Remaster: The same game but updated for modern systems. Reimagining: Same as a reboot but the story is retold with a new interpretation. Remake: A reimagining/remaster that adds upon the original story.

@LylatArwing It's fine to be excited for this remake, but at the same time, I also want the series actually GO SOMEWHERE NARRATIVELY. The last Star Fox game we got was 10 years ago...and it was a remake of 64 as well. Is it a crime to want a new story instead of the same one for 20+ years?

Can we retire the brain-dead 'Star Fox 64 has been remade five times' take already? The amount of confident bullshit on this app is exhausting! Star Fox (SNES, 1993): The original. Star Fox 2 (SNES, unreleased until SNES Mini/NSO): A distinct, different game (more open-world elements, different campaign). Star Fox 64 (N64, 1997): A reboot of the original with a new story, upgraded graphics/tech, and the classic branching path structure. Star Fox Assault (GameCube, 2005): Completely original story continuation, new mechanics like on-foot sections, tank/walker modes, and multiplayer focus. Not a remake. Star Fox 64 3D (3DS, 2011): Straight-up enhanced port/remaster of Star Fox 64 with gyro controls and better visuals. Basically the same game. Star Fox Zero (Wii U, 2016): Not a remake. It starts similar but quickly goes its own way with a different campaign, levels, bosses, and story beats. It's a reimagining with new gameplay (dual-screen stuff) Star Fox (Switch 2, June 25, 2026): This is indeed the first proper modern remake of Star Fox 64, ground up visuals, redesigned characters, added co-op and multiplayer, while staying faithful to the core game

@logorn_gadum Snowbound is a brainless map. A wide open area with little to no cover, two Beam Rifles on either side, and a random Ghost in the middle of the map just in case you thought you were still having fun. Map is garbage compared to some of the peak Halo 3 maps like Guardian and Pit.

It genuinely impresses me that nearly 20 years later, despite far worse maps releasing in other Halos, Snowbound somehow has remained THE most hated map and I genuinely don't understand why.

@Splitgate I get that the content stream for the game is drying up, but even a person who hasn't played many live-service games can tell you that a 90-day Battle Pass with no new maps, modes or cosmetics for over a month is not sustainable. You need to give players things more regularly.

@Splitgate I appreciate getting a new mode and rewards, but this mode needed to have come out just after the "Laser Tag" event ended. I don't want to be negative, but in a day or two I'll have completed the Battle Pass and modes like this should have been constant bi-weekly rotations.
