Very disappointed in my 2.5 year old @GeneralElectric washer. The bolt holding the agitator to the tank broke off and is nearly impossible to repair. Why would a bolt that rusts be chosen for a washer?

My Hakko FR-300 desoldering gun (purchased for $575 in 2017) uses N50B nozzles that are no longer made. I purchased an FR-301 to use the newer N61 nozzles. I import it from Japan for 1/2 the price of the US model. To convert it to a US model, all you do is replace 2 resistors (KOA MOS2CT52R301J 300ohm resistors) More info here: eevblog.com/forum/reviews/…

@leonkiriliuk Those are nice, but what I love about this is it never clogs or needs cleaning. It's also quieter.

@leonkiriliuk @dubesinhower The lack of composite video generation is a bummer. I suppose one could get some of that performance back by using a switch and cap to create composite from s video but it doesn't solve the palette issue, and is inconvenient. Everything else sounds great though

Here's my $0.02 on what was shared, based on installing hundreds of kits across every revision sold for the past 13 years: - OSD, simpler install, less jumpers 🥳 - Removal of the external voltage regulator - anyone used this? I always replace the 7805 with a 1.5A part 😎 - Addition of component video - it's always been there as an add-on but most opt for HD Retrovision cables 🤔 - Changes to SVideo/composite video out - big step backwards. CVideo was generated from RGB resulting in much cleaner image than stock PPU. Ability to control CVideo palette was also a bonus for PC10 games. 🫤 I had multiple customers get NESRGB installed because they wanted cleaner SVideo/CVideo out to an old Trinitron and didn't care about RGB. V5 makes it a less compelling purchase for this use case.

@BlueShell3D So many caps on those... Easy to think something could've gone wrong. Did something similar with an HDMI mod. Convinced myself I couldn't solder for jack and it turned out my HDMI cable was busted. Of course it's still on the table whether I can solder well...

2 hours recapping an N64 then trying to figure out what I screwed up because it stopped working… Reseated caps, checked continuity, decided I have no business doing this and WTF was I even thinking trying to do it… Then I cleaned the jumper pak with ISO… 🤦‍♂️

@TracketPacer Guess some people don't understand when it is and it is not ok to use CCA. It can be fine for other applications where the run is short but definitely not for Ethernet cables, especially for PoE applications

damn my tiktok comments have a number of grifter apologists claiming that CCA is totally safe & fine and there’s nothing wrong with selling it as long as the box says ‘CCA’ somewhere 😂 despite the fact that calling this cable CAT-whatever is an absolute lie & misleading as hell. must be a lot of folks invested in CCA i guess

We are now assembling/shipping SuperStation v1.2.3 (wave 4) in the second office. We have 14 testing stations and 16-32 spots for assembly and packing. To put this into context, we only had a single testing station for wave 1, and only had enough space for 4 people to assemble.
