@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon And so the persecuted Christians from Europe sailed across the sea and started a new Nation in this Hemisphere, away from Kings and Tyrants, answerable only to Christ, and giving Liberty to every man to follow God himself.

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon And so the only final solution is to force authority with the edge of the sword -- and experience has shown that this was done for millennia. See "On the Late Massacre in Piedmont" for example.

You get to eliminate one heresy from church history. Which false teaching would you eliminate?

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon But if we disagree (you and I for instance) on what is a side matter, neither of us has authority over the other. You and I both answer to the same God, and will be held to account for our alignments and actions. So my beliefs apply to me, my family, my organizations, not you.

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon This allows individual Christians to disagree on certain subjects and keeps God as the final authority. We all have the responsibility to stay away from bad doctrine. And those things that we as individuals decide are side matters (Rom 14) we give grace and liberty on.

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon However, even when avoiding subjective or "private" interpretations of the writings (2 Peter 1:20), questions do arise as to disputable matters; Romans 14 shows that Christians have liberty to disagree on these non-objective ideas, but are constrained to "the Faith" broadly.

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon The council settled an important doctrine on the law because the apostles had the authority and responsibility to "settle" doctrine; that job was done by A.D. 100 and the body of their writings is sufficient for important doctrines if interpreted historically and grammatically;

@Aaronaeus @JoshuaBarzon See Romans 14; believers have liberty in Christ to obey their conscience under God; they are priests of God, fed by the Word (1 Peter 2), and accountable to Christ as their only Judge. This precludes the tyranny of one conscience over another, and requires an objective standard.

@MattWalshBlog I've been raising kids for over 30 years. Parenting young adults is by far the hardest. Because sometimes you have to let your kids suffer the consequences of their own decisions.

I have kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers and I still think the newborn phase (especially for a first time parent) is the hardest by far. I remember being a younger parent and hearing older parents constantly whine about how much harder it gets. Turns out they were exaggerating for attention and pity. Parenting gets A LOT easier over time. Your kids get more mature and so do you. That’s how it should work if you’re doing it right anyway.
