Going 70 in a 55 Zone Leads to DUI/Weapon Arrest Per CHP: “Last night, while patrolling SR-16 (Jackson Rd), Officer B. Johnston observed a vehicle traveling more than 25 MPH over the posted 55 MPH speed limit. After initiating a traffic stop, he noted clear signs of driver impairment. A DUI investigation was conducted, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. During a vehicle inventory, a loaded firearm was discovered. Further investigation revealed the driver is a convicted felon, who under California law is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. Thanks to Officer Johnston’s vigilance, an impaired driver was removed from the roadway and an illegal firearm was taken off the street.
