BREAKING: Iran has told mediators it will be limiting the number of ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz to around 12 per day and impose tolls under the ceasefire, per WSJ. This is a sharp reversal from last night's statements from President Trump claiming a "complete opening" of the Strait of Hormuz. Today, just 4 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, the fewest of any day in April so far. The US is still pushing publicly for a free and open strait, but Iran is "not showing a willingness to loosen its grip." Oil prices are back above $95/barrel.

People really need to wake up to the fact that for Iran, Israel, Lebanon, etc? Oil is leverage, a bargaining chip, not the end game.
They do not care if Oil goes to $150+. At all.
This is about History, Culture, Religion for them. This is existential.
They have their own goals and they are incompatible with ours which is only focused on Oil and the Petrodollar.

I asked a oil trader why the price isn’t moving back up after the news the ceasefire isn’t holding. His reply: “It depends on who opened that wave of short positions that crashed the price in the first place and that’s not what a oil trading house would do so close to delivery”
