What if bringing back Arun IPS was actually a strategic move by Chief Minister Joseph Vijay? – A hypothetical post!
Almost everyone believes that Arun IPS has been rewarded.
But what if the exact opposite is true?
What if he has actually been demoted - not in title, but in authority, influence, and political leverage?
I think he may have been made the sacrificial lamb who now has to prove himself. Vijay, I hope, is simply waiting to see how events unfold.
‘Who’ ultimately gets exposed is the real suspense. Perhaps it is too early to rush to judgment.
Because unless the DVAC files FIRs, none of the DMK ministers will face any consequences, let alone ED intervention. While Stalin was in power, Davidson was placed in charge of the DVAC, allegedly ensuring that no FIRs were filed against leaders such as Nehru or Senthil Balaji.
If Vijay is using Arun merely to shield the DMK ministry, it would be a massive disappointment.
But will that really happen? Let us wait and watch.
DMK must be deploying every trick in the political playbook against TVK. If Vijay senses that, he may decide to take the fight directly to the DMK. And what if Arun's appointment is part of a much larger political chess move?
What if the very officer many believe has been rewarded is actually the one being asked to deliver results under the most intense scrutiny?
Perhaps Arun's appointment is part of a larger strategy to go after sections of the DMK leadership, with Arun himself ultimately paying the political price through exile from the system.
At this stage, nobody outside the inner circle really knows. For now, I will leave it to @CMOTamilnadu and the people who voted for him to ponder over.

Dear Chief Minister Joseph Vijay - Are you a victim of sheer incompetence or coalition compulsions? Appointing Mr. Arun IPS as the DVAC Director is arguably the most disastrous decision taken by @CMOTamilnadu so far. It instantaneously wipes out much of the goodwill generated through several other sensible decisions taken by this government. I hear that pressure came from @thirumaofficial to push for Mr. Arun to occupy what is arguably one of the most strategically important positions in the bureaucracy. What exactly are you afraid of, @CMOTamilnadu? That @thirumaofficial will withdraw his support? What can a party with just two seats realistically do against a government backed by the kind of unprecedented public mandate that @TVKVijayHQ has received? Even in the worst-case scenario, if coalition compulsions prevent you from sticking to the path of Dharma and good governance, you can always go back to the people. In fact, if fresh elections were held today, one could argue that @TVKVijayHQ would be in a position to sweep the polls with more than 200 seats and govern with unbridled freedom, unburdened by coalition pressures and political bargaining. So, the question remains: Are you becoming a victim of coalition compulsions, or is this simply a case of poor judgment? It is still not too late. Please identify a clean, credible, and professionally respected officer and appoint him as the DVAC Director. The people voted for change. Do not let them feel they voted for more of the same! @CMOTamilnadu
