@SoApps1979 @wxrjm @MLB Baseball is the strange one in that way. STUNNED they don’t see it just as a legal exposure no matter what the ticket says. Again the point isn’t to bubble wrap the game but the international standard is 8 mile radius for a reason. Baseball is the last sport to buy in. Wild.

Totally agree with the idea that pro sports leagues should use and fund weather consultation directly in their events. I also do some consulting for events including a minor league baseball team. For my specific setup, any communication on game day goes through the GM and head of grounds crew and they advise umpires. The key in all of this is that game officials need to trust what they are being relayed, once a game begins they are the only ones allowed to suspend play.

Entirely fair but having a meteorologist offer intel - not advice - Intel - would help inform their decision. I work events. I get timelines - gate revenue - etc. But the Ump is asking the grounds guy with an app? There are more modern ways to streamline and make better calls

Doing a little model comparison for North Carolina at 16z (Noon) on Friday. The NAM (top) hinting at some hybrid wedge action while the experimental RRFS is significantly warmer. NAM usually sniffs these out well, at least for our part of the world. We shall see… #ncwx
