Southern Tech Workers
@SoTechWorkers
Fighting for American tech workers across the South.

The short deadline our government gives STEM international students to find a sponsor for their work visa is increasingly unrealistic in Trump's economy. I’m introducing the Stop the Brain Drain Act to extend the period that graduates on F-1 student visas can remain in the United States. This bill is an important step to provide international students, who've graduated from our universities, opportunities for success without having to leave the country.

Student visas for Africa’s best and brightest were canceled by the Trump administration, leaving empty seats and broken dreams. “A punch to the heart,” said one woman who lost her scholarship. on.wsj.com/3Pwmprd

Michigan has 250,000 unemployed Americans and 400,000+ foreign workers. Annually, 12,000 STEM college graduates in Michigan cannot find STEM jobs. 75,000 foreigners (H-1B visa holders) have those STEM jobs in Michigan. Michigan jobs must go to Michigan workers FIRST.

“Enjoy what you do. Love what you do.” Thank you Bob Iger for over 50 years of unforgettable experiences, storytelling and magic.

India first @CongressmanRaja wants to flood America with more people from his homeland at a time when American workers are unable to find jobs. He reintroduced a bill which would increase the annual cap on H-1B visas from 65,000 to 130,000 and completely exempt masters students.

North Carolina State University (@NCState) has filed a notice of intent to hire an H-1B Computer Systems Analyst Salary: $74,028 No American was qualified for this job.

Florida becomes the second Republican-led state to block H-1B hires at state universities bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
