Amazing piece @RadBullXRD I sometimes question myself why I continue to build and support Radix, with its lack of general adoption and awareness and then I read an article like this and I'm reminded of what makes Radix so unique and such an opportunity. Eventually the world will realise you need to be able to linearly and atomically scale composability if you ever want to achieve global scale. Radix is the only network that has publicly demonstrated this ability.

Identity is the missing layer of Web3. A paradox of Web3 has always been that it gives people freedom, but systems still need to know who or what they’re interacting with. Without that, real-world use cases like regulated DeFi, social platforms, on-chain legal agreements all hit the same wall. The problem? Until now, identity in crypto has meant centralisation, surveillance, or endless KYC forms. None of which fit the ethos of decentralisation. But there’s another way. Digital ID in Web3 can provide verifiable credentials without needing to hand over all your personal data. It allows you to prove what’s true about you without revealing everything about you. “I’m a real human.” “I’m over 18.” “I’m allowed to trade this asset.” All provable. None of it stored in a central database. This unlocks far more than compliance. Imagine: → Regulated DeFi, where institutions can participate safely without private chains. → Social media free of bots and spam. → Smart contracts that can execute legally binding agreements. That’s what happens when identity is done right. And that’s exactly what’s starting to happen on Radix. Unlike other chains, Radix didn’t bolt identity on after the fact. It built it into the core using Personas and Badges. Radix gives users full control over who they are and what they can prove. → Personas act as decentralised logins for Web3. → Badges are verifiable credentials that define permissions and trust. Together, they make permissioned apps possible without permissioned infrastructure. Now, with the launch of Proof of Personhood powered by idOS, this vision is becoming real. It’s a verifiable “I’m a human” credential that integrates directly with Radix Badges. No central database, and total user control. This matters because the next phase of crypto adoption depends on it. Institutions need compliance they can trust. Users need privacy they can rely on. Developers need a framework that lets both coexist. That’s what identity brings to Web3, and why the Radix + idOS integration is a proof of concept for something that will become critical to the next wave of adoption. idOS provides the modular identity layer. Radix provides the foundation where identity, assets, and UX all work seamlessly together. What this enables is simple: → Open systems that can still meet regulation. → Identity that strengthens privacy, not weakens it. → A financial base layer built on verifiable identity. Proof of Personhood with idOS on Radix is a step to building rails that let the next generation of DeFi actually work.

The revolution in digital identity is here. idOS's Proof-of-Personhood is now live on Radix, replacing clunky verification with a system you control. And for being among the first to experience this future, you're rewarded. Verifying now earns you Season Points for the 1B XRD Radix Rewards!

Radix Community Council@Radix_ecosystem·
Mission Statement of the Radix Community Council Since 2013, when Dan Hughes first shared his ideas on Bitcointalk, the seeds of the Radix Community were planted. Dan proved himself to be a brilliant mind and a man of rare integrity in the crypto space. He dedicated more than a decade to tackling the blockchain trilemma of security, scalability, and decentralization - never hesitating to start from scratch if that was what it took to discover the right solution. His persistence, vision, and honesty earned the respect of all who followed his work. Over the years, some community members have remained steadfast, others have moved on, and new ones have joined - yet the spirit of Radix has always endured. Today, in the wake of Dan’s passing, we as members of the Radix Community pledge to honor his vision and carry his work forward. Like Dan, we will take action - whether through small contributions like gifs, memes, and Reddit posts, or through ambitious projects such as developer resources and research initiatives. The Radix Community will carry the torch of Dan’s legacy, spreading his vision of a scalable, secure, and decentralized future. We invite all who share this belief to stand with us and join Push 2.0, as together we build on the foundation Dan left for us. Join Push 2.0 now: t.me/radixpush2 #DoItForDan

This is one wiki update we never dreamed we’d have to make. Dan Hughes will go down in history as one of the chief architects of Web3. Over the course of a decade and more, he made profound conceptual and technical breakthroughs that could only have been unlocked by someone with his rare blend of principle, technical brilliance, and tenacity. On a human level, he was passionate, thoughtful, and quick to laugh. People wanted to be around him and he'll be sorely missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. Almost by definition, the path of a pioneer is lonely. It requires a willingness to be ignored and misunderstood for long periods of time while the world catches up. Like the printing press, telephone, and internet, Web3 is a technology that ultimately advances human freedom. Dan saw this very clearly, but in his pursuit of a solution in Radix there is no doubt that he sacrificed a lot on our behalf. What remains though, is a world-changing legacy, graced with a collective appreciation of all of the long hours, patient explanations, travel miles, and extreme multitasking that he willingly endured. @fuserleer, with all our hearts, thank you. Rest in peace. 💙

What the other L1s are showing you are transaction previews, not reviews. A transaction preview is like when the waiter reads your order back to you before sending it to the kitchen. Great, unless the kitchen makes a mistake. A transaction review is like getting your receipt after the meal is finished. The steak is already in your stomach, and you have got what you expected.

It often feels like we chose the hardest possible route when executing the Synonym roadmap and our "Atomic Economy" vision, but I sincerely believe this is the scale of R&D it takes to solve these problems, and that we're converging on the optimal shape of a new system: a holistically designed complete ecosystem for society to progress as harmoniously as possible. Very few want to support you in this kind of thing, and many are happy to make it difficult and tell you that you're going to fail. Even yourself and your own team will have many moments of painful rumination and doubt. It is these moments and how we learn from them, and how we transcend them, that gives humans the power to accomplish absolutely anything together; transforming our innate fears and traumatic experiences into the greatest achievements of mankind. Is there any other way to live? Not as far as I'm concerned. Your support is infinitely appreciated, as we are here to make something infinitely valuable, not a product, not a business, but a better world.

If you want the BTC price to go up, you're gonna have to sell your MSTR and ETF shares, then convert them to self-custodial BTC. Then you need to use that BTC to buy things in ways that the current system makes too difficult. Then we win. Until then? blah blah blah...

@GeorgeSelgin As far as I know, only the Rothbardian wing of the Austrian School argues that a fixed money supply is sufficient. all the rest advocate for elasticity in different forms. Is that correct @GeorgeSelgin?

First, not all Austrians believe it; instead, most did or do not. Second, it’s a recipe for frequent recessions. Finally, there’s nothing free-market about it: a gold standard, for instance, wouldn’t imply it. Instead, it’s just a particularly stupid monetary central plan.
Mises Institute@mises

How much money does an economy need in circulation to function? Austrians believe that a growing economy does not need a growing supply of money, which sets Austrian Economics apart from other schools of economic thought. | Paul F. Cwik mises.org/mises-wire/opt…

@JeremyRubin Literally no one knows how much ETH will be issued in 2023 or beyond. A small group of people will have to figure it out just like with fiat currencies. The unpredictability and fact that it changes frequently makes it a poor new monetary standard.

What happens if you're in a country that's both deindustrialized and dedollarized? Not good things. The closest parallel may be Russia in the 90s. They also had globally uncompetitive factories, devalued currencies, and lost imperial identities. x.com/MentoLabs/stat…
