Gen Xers hate it when you point out that the pre-internet childhoods they gloat about were actually spent watching the same 25 music videos rotate on MTV for hours at a time while stoned.

Kids used to watch an insane amount of TV, both actively and passively channel surfing, even just on as background noise. I doubt a lot of younger zoomers fully grasp how much TV people used to watch, but it's important missing context for the social media/phone use moral panics.
