Young people’s voices stating this are often ignored but stats indicative. School is a HUGE trigger for those who begin to use self harm to cope; often coping with being overwhelmed; often neurodiversity completely discounted; leaving yp feeling invalidated.

Self harm in children and teenagers shows a very different pattern to adults with significantly less harm on the weekends and during holidays: greatest harm on school days. Holidays and weekends are good circuit breakers for distress #BDISummit @blackdoginst

Today the CPS have published their latest figures on domestic abuse. Sadly the outcomes continue to be distressing and unacceptable. Comparing year ending June 2022 to year ending June 2016, prosecutions are down 48% and convictions are down 46.8%. This cannot continue.
