It is the policy of Softwarm LLC that Bitcoin heating systems are the only type we will install and manage. Owners of mining equipment can obviously do whatever they want on their own accord. We just don't want to be involved.

The bitcoin mining hardware market is in an interesting spot right now. New models are overpriced relative to market economics, yet the manufacturers cannot drop prices since COGS + overheads are yielding marginal profit and even losses on each unit sold. The only models that are well priced are the 26-34 J/Th era (S19/M30) but they are ancient and most large scale miners cannot operate them profitably. The miners with the capital to upgrade to new hardware are yielding lackluster gross margins, which is fine for short term cash flow, but they continue on the brutal hardware depreciation hamster wheel... While Hydro hardware is getting more popular, and when implemented well yields lower Opex, but the total capex per installed miner is just brutal and the hardware depreciation hamster wheel (non-cash cost) is even worse. There are minimal second-hand Hydro machines to purchase at a reasonable price (undeveloped market), and investing in the infra has a high hidden risk due to vendor lock-in (systems incompatible with competing hardware). On top of all of this the black market / sanctioned market miners don't care about real profits if their agenda is to launder money or escape capital controls. They will mine at a real loss. I am very interested to see how difficulty and hashprice play out for the rest of the year.

This but with bitcoin miners that supply heat to the home and monetize excess solar directly. And the AI cards are used for local inference - not feeding your data to the corpo overlords. The sovereign smart home. @Exergy_LLC

BREAKING: Nvidia and PulteGroup are partnering with startup Span to install mini data centers on the walls of new homes Each unit packs 16 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, 4 AMD EPYC CPUs, and 3TB of RAM - and taps unused home electrical capacity to run AI inference workloads

Hi I’m Jay. I’m a Physician turned Entrepreneur through Acquisition (ETA). I’ve bought 9 car washes in the last 2.5 years through 6 SBA loans. I’ve been able to quit my hospitalist job by entirely replacing my income through car washes. I’m not done yet either…

All the tokenization/leverage nonsense will implode with a rapidity that will make traditional capital markets appear stable (relatively). I cringe at some of the nonsense that will arise — but the acceleration of the devaluation of fake money will continue…of this I’m certain.

Hell yeah! Been looking for a series to watch w/ my son at night (daughter has no interest, sadly). This came up on Apple TV on the Top Chart as #1. Watched it while deployed to the CAOC as EXXON. It was on the “Morale Drive”, where a bunch of free movies & TV shows could be accessed. I’m not sure of the legality there…it was a little dubious, but this was accessible to anyone on the deployed base. It didn’t exist at our home bases, probably for a reason. A little mouse would visit me at my plywood desk on the “Dark Side”, before the new CAOC. I gave it some crumbs & it would go on its way. I’d get most of my work done & optimize the tanker schedule in the first 45 minutes of an 8-12 hour shift, 7 days a week. Then I just played “whack a mole” w/ problems that sprang up & asked the Australian controllers at the other end of my chat room what things like calling someone a “Muppet” meant. (means you have to stick your hand up their ass & move their mouth yourself to make them say anything intelligent) Anyway, I’d load a fat dip & settle in for some Galactica. The big British boss would come by sometimes & catch me. I was always respectful & rose. I did my job really well & knew my stuff. When things went wrong, they looked at me & asked if we had gas to support responses. My answer was always that they had unlimited gas plus a reserve. Tankers will show up, come hell or high water. Yep, I’ve got gas for your F-15s to go supersonic & chase down a drone that has gone rogue & is heading for Pakistan…that KC-10 crew is already en-route at .88 Mach, your Eagles will have to catch up…they’ll be waiting near the border. So, when the big boss came around, me watching the show wasn’t something he was going to make a fuss about. Anyway, I didn’t watch much TV at home at that time, but this show was great. We start tonight!

More thoughts on landings: I went to the Reserves & got re-qualified as a KC-10 instructor after a couple years away from the jet. The DO (Director of Operations) assigned me to fly w/ the Wing Commander, who flew jets occasionally now & had only a weird “Senior Staff” Qual in the KC-10. Long story. Anyway, the DO gave me a warning. He phrased it in a nice way, but told me they only allowed certain instructors to fly w/ the Wing Commander. It piqued my curiosity, but I didn’t go on high alert or anything. So, we’re on the last landing of the sortie, really late at night. Things look fine, he’s doing fine, and I’m happy we’re almost done. Somehow in the last 100’, this guy manages to put the jet down almost in the lights leading up to the runway. I’ve never seen anything like it & couldn’t explain it. It was like the universe paused, reset our height above the ground, then resumed play. We touched down on the main gear maybe 50’ from the runway threshold. I didn’t have time to react. I realized we were safe & stopping, so didn’t say anything. I didn’t debrief him, either…he wasn’t going to listen to me anyway. I tried to figure out how that happened. I honestly never did. I didn’t see any yoke movements or power adjustments that would account for it, nor was there any weather that would do it. We were on speed & glidepath. I still don’t really know. Anyway, I talked to the DO the next day. He wasn’t surprised, and reiterated that was why they only let him fly with a handful of instructors. I flew with him again, and it was vanilla, but I watched like a Hawk. That lesson sticks with me. Fast forward to years later, and I haven’t actually flown the KC-10 in a long time. I’m not current & so my qualification has lapsed. I hear my son on a video game group chat telling others something along the lines of “yeah, when my dad retires I get to wave the jet in to parking”. Shit. The kids are expecting that. I was just going to go away quietly…I had a lot going on in those years. A lot. I didn’t have the bandwidth for the KC-10, but now there is an expectation & I can’t let them down. So, the squadron goes to extraordinary lengths & draws up a whole requalification plan for me, which has to be signed at multiple levels. In reality, it’s just to do one last flight, and not even do much flying. The squadron was extremely gracious in this regard. My instructor, a good friend of mine, offers me the last landing. I’ve strapped into the seat for this one…I’d been napping in the back while the other pilots took turns practicing touch & gos for their currency. I considered it, but the jet – which I had thousands of hours on – felt huge now & I was uncomfortable. I declined & put my hands in my lap. He landed & slowed it down. I took over to taxi it in for my kids, and then we had the whole show of throwing water on me, champagne & pictures. And that was it. That was my last landing in a military jet.
