Considering buying a house for a while now. Financially I'm not sure whether it's a good investment, but I'd love to have a long-term residence (talking decades). I also think it gives peace of mind, a place of "FU" for those who know the famous scene from The Gambler. Here’s what’s going to possibly happen next with clipping since everyone is talking about it now and we started about 1.5 years ago 1. The current model is going to overheat. The minute I see a large swarm of new people talk about the same thing it could mean A. The current model has topped and the social media algos will adjust or B. The market will actually get bigger C. Mixed And it’s likely C 2. X, Instagram, TikTok are going to make adjustments where either A. They block clipping (they can’t and won’t ) B. They make a new attribution and approvals system (they’re going to try this) C. Digital id in order to try and beat proxy server setups (maybe it works but cat and mouse game) 3. There is not enough clippers and the reality is many “creators” don’t want to be clippers even if they make great money because the ego is stronger than the wallet. A. AI gets better and solves this (we have a bet on this) B. Proxy servers grow a lot because emerging markets don’t have ego they need money C. AI videos may slowly replace clippers but only if token costs go down. I think it’ll be a hybrid We know that clipping is integral but also true that the speed of its growth by people who started a month ago means there will be a shift The job of the managers (like myself) is to plan for some of that. So that’s what I do. I try to stay 6 months ahead when possible.
