@dabearsblog I do think these international games are cool, but it would make more sense for the extra inter-conf games that they added to create a 17 game season to be played as neutral site intl games instead of big games like this. And wouldnt need to rotate which conf gets extra home game

@TrashPanda08x I get where you’re coming from, but at least in Chicago, these urban municipal courses provide access to golf to a lot of people who maybe wouldn’t play otherwise. And IMO they enhance their neighborhoods. I would hope we can build more housing without taking our escape away

@upstatefederlst Interesting take but I think time zones are helpful cause no matter where u are in the world, u have a frame of reference for when things should occur. Imagine traveling across the world and planning out what time you’re supposed to eat dinner or check into a hotel. Too much math

My most extreme opinion is that the entire planet should just use military UTC and if that means that "daytime" is 2300 - 1700 that's just what time it is.
Nothing changes except what the clock says. It would be weird for like a year and then it would be fine.

Time changes are dumb. Let's fix them. Did you know our current timezones were drawn by the railroads 140 years ago? Let's modernize them with what I'm calling the "Sunrise Rule"... using actual solar data. Use 5 timezones and target the latest sunrise of the year at around 8:20 AM, and we get this map. It ain't perfect, but it works. Currently the US swings between UTC-4 and UTC-8 throughout the year, that's 5 zones we rotate through, crammed into 4 at any given moment. Why not just use all 5 and leave it be? Every time Congress tries to fix DST, they keep the same 4 zones and it fails because northern cities end up with 9 AM sunrises. No dark mornings AND more evening light. Daylight Savings crowd wins. Standard time crowd wins. No more clock changes. Everybody wins.
