you get a tiny bit of carmelization flavor from charred oak casks, but there's no sugar in rum or whiskey (& the stuff they ferment for all alcohols is sweet - although none of the sugars make it into the distilled product - because sugar is what the yeast eats)

@CaralhoPhilly @TheWapplehouse Ive had wagyu burgers before. I think wagyu fat has a distinctive taste thats nice. But I imagine most resturaunts that do it probably use a lower end wagyu and mix it with a cheaper cut of meat when they grind it. There's no reason to do what he did or do it that badly.
