Let’s do a walkthrough of the historic view of prophecy, because too many haven’t seen this, or simply refuse to even look.
Who is the antichrist? Daniel 7 tells us about “the little horn”, and identifies this power as the antichrist.
Daniel 7:3 “And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.” What are these four great beasts? Scripture tells us.
Daniel 7:17 “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.” So the beasts are 4 great kings.
Daniel 7:4 “The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it”. What king is this? It’s Babylon. Scripture again defines itself. Jeremiah 4:7 “The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.” Babylon overthrew the kingdom of Assyria in 605 BC. Nebuchadnezzar rules Babylon for 40 of its 70 year existence. Daniel was there at that time.
