Does anybody else worry that by the time our young SP will be in their prime - our current position player core - like JJ and Walker will be on the back end of theirs or going to free agency? Specifically talking about Doyle, Jurrangelo, Clarke, Franklin - like hypothetical here Once Walker and JJ are in their like 26-30 prime - those guys might just finally be contributing to the ML team in a meaningful way. Let's say lockout in 2027 for the game here 2028 JJ and Walker are 25 Doyle and Jurrangelo are rookies Let's say 2030 is the year Doyle enters the season as the quote on quote ACE - C man is the #2 and let's say Franklin is in there too. By the time those guys are established and their own rotation - what the cardinals are building JJ and Walker will be already 27 and 28 Walker I think in his final year of arbitration and JJ in his 2nd year - Baez would be entering his final year of pre arb if he comes up this season Burley would already be gone in free agency - I guess my whole point is - if Walker is this good - and you have Herrera and Burleson to add to him as the middle of this order - and JJ and Baez and Crooks Shouldn't the Cardinals maybe spend money on SP sooner rather than later and whatever these young SP turn into will be the cherry on top. Long winded argument to say I think we should be in the Skubal market man and I'm 100% serious We would be able to afford it - It's not like we need to go sign much more Having a significant portion of our salary on one player actually works for the next 5-6 seasons Once it turns into an issue - it won't be anymore Idk maybe I'm just high #stlcards

I just love seeing Pages, Scott, Saggese and Church give the most uncompetitive AB's during a "rebuild" year. Baez, Crooks just chilling in Memphis - literally nothing left to prove (especially Crooks) Chaim is very much like MO. I want excitement - I don't care about Wins but I do want to see the kids play - I want a productive season - There's no reasons why Pages or Poso should be here over Crooks - not 1 - #stlcards

The #STLCards have a 6.15 Bullpen ERA. Obviously, that's not good and it needs to get better and it's perfectly acceptable to look at ways to make it better. But I think the level of freak out is a bit over-the-top. Last season the club had a 5.71 bullpen ERA through 10 games and finished with it at 3.74. We are 10 games in! We have 152 games left. We can take the temperature down a notch.
