@notgaetti I’ve been all over DeRosa, but to be fair to him, it seems likely he’s saying if they had taken a lead sometime before the 9th inning, Miller would’ve pitched the 9th.

Mark DeRosa’s brain was on another planet throughout the entire 2026 WBC.
There’s no “had we taken the lead.” Team USA was the home team. If you “had taken the lead” in the 9th inning, the game would be over.
There’s no situation where Miller could have pitched with the lead.

@cardsNtrains @notgaetti As we await NG, here’s one. The Cardinals traded away future team Hall of Famer Tommy Herr for Tom Brunansky in 1988, and promoted Luis Alicea from AAA at 2B in his place. Trying to show the poor kid some love, Ted Drewes named a custard after him for a few months.

The number of people who clearly use AI to craft basic posts on this site, and replies to posts, is pretty shocking. Once you learn how to spot AI writing, you see it absolutely everywhere on here. It’s unmistakable. The tech has existed for 10 seconds and already huge swaths of people have completely given up on even the simplest forms of creative writing.
