This is great advice, but with a critical TCM caveat: it only works for the right kind of pain. Turmeric is a 'cooling' herb that reduces 'Heat' type inflammation. This is pain that is red, hot, swollen, and feels better with ice.
However, if your knee pain is 'Cold' type—it feels worse in cold weather, feels better with a heating pad, and the swelling isn't bright red—then applying a cooling herb like turmeric can actually make it worse.
For Cold type pain, you need warming herbs like ginger or cinnamon. The key is to diagnose the nature of the pain before you treat it. Don't just fight inflammation; you have to know if you're fighting fire or ice.

🚨 THIS GOLDEN SPICE MIGHT QUIET YOUR KNEE PAIN…
What if relief is hiding in your kitchen?
turmeric contains curcumin, known for fighting inflammation. Some research suggests a warm turmeric paste on the knees may help reduce swelling and make movement—like walking downstairs—feel easier.
Simple… yet surprisingly powerful.
⚠️ Not a cure. Results vary—check with a healthcare professional if pain continues.

Exactly. In TCM, cloves are called Ding Xiang, and they are famous for their ability to 'Warm the Interior' and expel Cold. This is why they are a go-to herb for parasites, which we often see as a pathogen that thrives in a cold, weak digestive environment. But cloves do more than just kill; they restore the digestive 'fire' (the Spleen and Stomach Yang Qi). This is why they are also a classic remedy for nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain from Cold. They don't just destroy the bad; they rebuild the good.

I'm going to do something different.
Forget the generic health advice. Let's diagnose you for free, right now, using the ancient wisdom of TCM.
Traditional Chinese Medicine doesn't just look at symptoms; it looks at patterns. Your body is constantly giving you clues.
PARTICIPATE BELOW:
1- Look at your tongue in the mirror.
Is it pale, red, or purple? Is it thickly coated or thin? Is the body of the tongue thick or thin? Anything different in the borders?
2- Check your pulse at your wrist.
Does it feel wiry (like a guitar string), thin and weak, or rapid and slippery?(
Pulse: Press lightly on your radial artery with your index, middle, and ring finger (wrist). Feel for 15-30 seconds.)
3-What is your main complaint? (e.g., anxiety, poor sleep, bloating, fatigue, headaches, constipation...)
Drop your 3 answers in the replies. I will give you a FREE TCM pattern diagnosis (e.g., 'Liver Qi Stagnation' or 'Spleen Qi Deficiency') and tell you what it means.
Note: This is a fun educational exercise based on basic TCM principles. Not a substitute for in-person diagnosis or medical advice. For personalized treatment, book a consultation.

There is not a single indigenous, traditional culture in all of human history that was vegan. It doesn't exist. Every single thriving culture, included some form of animal foods. The reason is simple: it's a biological necessity. A diet without animal products is a modern, ideological experiment, not a time-tested human reality. Our ancestors knew what worked because their survival depended on it.
English

The hard truth nobody in the vegan space wants to say:
Plants don't want to be eaten either.
They have their own defense system:
> Oxalates -> bind to calcium, form kidney stones, damage tissues
> Lectins -> gut lining irritants, linked to leaky gut and autoimmune flares
> Phytates -> mineral blockers that starve you at the cellular level
> Goitrogens (in kale, spinach, soy) -> suppress thyroid function
> Tannins -> inhibit protein and iron absorption
> Saponins (in quinoa, legumes) -> disrupt gut membranes
Your ancestors didn't thrive on salads and protein powder.
They ate raw liver, marrow, eggs and milk straight from the source.
That's what your biology was built for.

This is the sad truth. In America, you simply cannot trust the big food industry. Their only mandate is profit, not your health. The solution is to opt out entirely. We need to go back to buying from small producers, from local farmers, from people you can actually look in the eye. People who care about their craft and their land. When you know who grows your food, you don't need to read a box to know if it's safe.

SHOCKING TRUTH: Your “Normal” US Pasta Could Be Destroying Your Gut – While Italians Eat Pasta Daily With ZERO Issues
If American pasta leaves you bloated, gassy, sluggish, or running to the bathroom…you’re not crazy. It’s not “gluten sensitivity.” It’s what they’re putting in it. 🇺🇸 vs. 🇮🇹
Why US Pasta Is Quietly Wrecking Digestion:
• Toxic wheat loaded with chemicals — Heavy pesticide use (including glyphosate) on US wheat is linked to severe gut inflammation, leaky gut, and chronic bloating. Italian durum wheat is strictly regulated with far lower residues.
• Ultra-fast, high-heat processing — Flash-dried at extreme temperatures that damage starches and proteins, making it nearly indigestible for many people.
• Hidden additives & synthetic fortification — Many US brands add preservatives, dough conditioners, and lab-made vitamins that your body doesn’t recognize — triggering inflammation most Italians never experience.
• Teflon-cut nightmare — Cheap pasta is extruded through Teflon dies for speed and shine. This creates smooth, lifeless noodles that digest too fast, spike blood sugar, and may release microplastics.
The Healthy Alternative: Bronze-Cut Pasta (What Real Italians Eat)
Traditional bronze-die pasta has a rough, porous texture that:
• Lets sauce cling perfectly
• Digests slowly and gently
• Preserves natural nutrients and enzymes
• Gives you steady energy with zero crash or bloat
Result? Italians eat pasta multiple times a week and stay lean & healthy. Americans eat “healthy” pasta and feel miserable.
Stop poisoning your gut.
Next time you shop, FLIP THE BOX and only buy bronze cut / bronze die pasta. Your stomach will feel the difference in days.
Have you been suffering after pasta for years? 👇

This is the key. When you make everything from scratch, you achieve true food sovereignty. You're no longer a passive consumer of whatever a corporation decides to put in a jar; you become an active creator of your own health. You control the ingredients, the quality, and the intention. This isn't just about making pickles; it's about taking back the power to decide what nourishes your body. It's the foundation of real health."
English

This woman shows just how easy it is to make your own quick pickles at home.
She fills mason jars with fresh carrots, red onions, cucumbers, cauliflower, and green beans, then adds simple seasonings like garlic, salt, sugar, peppercorns, and fresh dill. She pours in half white vinegar and tops them off with boiling water, gives them a shake, and lets them sit in the fridge for just 3–4 days.
Making your own pickles is not only incredibly easy and inexpensive, but it lets you control exactly what goes in — no weird preservatives, just fresh flavor and crunch. It’s such a satisfying way to turn ordinary veggies into something special.
Have you ever made quick pickles before, or is there a vegetable you’d love to try pickling this way?

So cool! In TCM, we know this herb as Hong Jing Tian and it's a premier adaptogen. The Soviet athletes were using it for endurance because in TCM we say it powerfully 'Tonifies Qi.' Qi is our foundational energy and adaptability. When Qi is strong, you have endurance, you resist stress, and you recover fast. It's the same principle, just a different language. It's also used to 'Invigorate Blood' and 'Clear Lung Heat,' making it a fantastic herb for both energy and respiratory health.
English

Brazilian mom pulls out some Rhodiola she got from the pharmacy.
Said she takes it for mental energy.
I told her how it was historically used by Soviet Olympic athletes and cosmonauts to boost endurance, reduce fatigue, and speed up recovery.
This is one of my favorite herbs on the planet, cool to see she had it in her purse, was not expecting that.

English

@myhiddenvalue yes, I have been using it for long time already. Commercial toothpaste are really bad for you.

Couldn't agree more. It's a simple rule: if it can't reproduce, it's not a whole food. The seed is the source of the plant's power. Removing it for convenience is like removing an engine from a car and wondering why it won't run properly. Our bodies thrive on the intelligence and completeness of nature, not on the shortcuts of modern agriculture. Avoid all seedless, modified foods.

The TCM Principle of "Like Nourishes Like"
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, eating organs isn't just a good idea; it's a core therapeutic principle. We have a saying, "以形补形" (yǐ xíng bǔ xíng), which translates to "use the organ to treat the organ."
The logic is profound: the essence of an animal organ contains the information needed to heal the corresponding human organ. Modern science is now proving why this works.
🩸 Liver:
- TCM says liver nourishes the Liver system to resolve "Liver Blood Deficiency" (blurry vision, dry eyes, dizziness).
- Western View: Liver is nature's multivitamin. It's the most concentrated source of true Vitamin A (retinol), essential for eye health, and packed with highly bioavailable iron and B12 to build blood, just as TCM described.
🦴 Kidney:
- TCM says kidney and bone marrow are supreme tonics for the Kidney system (vitality, bones, reproductive health), replenishing our deepest energy, "Jing."
- Western View: Kidney meat is rich in selenium and B12 for thyroid function and energy. Bone marrow is a prime source of collagen and healthy fats, providing the literal building blocks for strong bones and tissues.
❤️ Heart:
- TCM says heart nourishes the Heart "Shen" (spirit) for anxiety or insomnia, as it carries the calming, rhythmic essence of the Heart.
- Western View: The heart is the single best dietary source of CoQ10, a critical enzyme for cellular energy production and cardiovascular function. It's also high in B vitamins that support the nervous system.
This isn't just folk wisdom; it's a deeply embedded clinical strategy now validated by nutritional science.
Modern culture's aversion to these parts has led to a deficiency in the very substances our bodies need to function optimally. While the West once focused only on isolated vitamins & minerals, we're now returning to this holistic view.
TCM focuses on resonance and essence; Western nutrition confirms the specific biochemical compounds that create that resonance.
Throwing away the organs is, from our perspective, discarding the most targeted and potent medicine the animal has to offer.
It's the original, and most effective, precision medicine.

English

This is the core principle in TCM: 'Like nourishes like.' We eat liver to build Liver Blood for blurry vision, and consume kidney/bone marrow to strengthen the Kidney system (our core vitality, bones, and willpower). These aren't just 'parts'; they are targeted medicine. Discarding them is discarding the most potent healing essence the animal offers.

@coookwithchris Modern Medicine says: Oysters are packed with zinc, which is critical for testosterone, immunity, and cellular health.
TCM says: Oysters nourish the Kidney Yin and build Jing, which is the source of reproductive health, immune resilience, and longevity.

This is a perfect description of the herb's effect. In TCM, we call it Rou Dou Kou and it's a cornerstone for strengthening digestion. We say the 'Stomach' provides the digestive fire, but when there is 'Cold from Deficiency,' that fire sputters out. This leads to the exact symptoms you see: chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain and distention, poor appetite, and nausea. Rou Dou Kou's warming nature directly reignites that Stomach fire, warms the Spleen, and stops the diarrhea. When the gut is warm and functioning properly again, the mind is clear and the heart is free, just as St. Hildegard described."
English

This is a beautiful illustration of a core TCM principle: 'Yi leads Qi.' 'Yi' is your thought, your mind, your intention. It is the commander of your energy (Qi). Where your mind goes, your energy follows. Emoto showed that intention physically changes water. We use this principle in every aspect of TCM, from a patient's focused intention during acupuncture to the focused intention of an herbalist when creating a formula. Your words and thoughts aren't passive; they are a direct command to your body's energy.
English

In TCM, we know this as Hu Zhang, and it's a powerhouse. I use it in my clinic constantly, especially for pain in the upper body—shoulders, neck, head—that we diagnose as 'Liver Yang Rising.' It works fantastically for clearing that upward, tense energy. It's also a great example of how veterinary medicine mirrors our own; the same herbal formulas and acupuncture protocols that work for humans are often incredibly effective for our dogs as well. We're all more alike than we think.
