@BobFromAccounts @georgebernhard Have I drunk the kool aid in believing that cyclists should wear helmets? Is it an unfair point to make? I do worry for these peoples’ safety… and frequent use of headphones means they often don’t even know how close they’ve come to injury.

@georgebernhard @BobFromAccounts Interesting. I don’t generally see the same behaviour from cars. Of course there are naughty people in both camps, but with e-bikes, it truly seems like traffic rules don’t apply to them. Good luck to you if you’re a pedestrian trying to cross on a green man!

@soundmotives @BobFromAccounts I've only cycled in London for 14 years, but I don't recognise that description. Yes, lots of numpties on e-bikes go through red lights; unlike the numpties in cars, who do it just as often, they don't generally endanger me or anyone else.

@EricEatsPickles I don’t believe this is solely a lack of education. A red light is a red light! Always was! Dangerous riding’s a result of various factors. When paying by the minute, 2 minutes at a red is impacting your wallet. And you have an electric boost on acceleration, magnifying errors.

As a cyclist in London for 18 years, my rides these days are more dangerous than ever, due to mostly the e-bike brigade totally ignoring traffic laws. I’m no saint and have gone through my fair share of reds in my time but these people take stupid risks daily.
