@Sakon_FGC There are even old games with vibrant communities. The amount of people playing MotW on Fightcade is crazy last I checked, and getting matches on BBCF is easy.

All this SF6 vs CoTW discourse is so random. Just play your favorite game and have fun. If you dislike both you can play Strive's new patch, Avatar or wait for Tokon. Just support fighting games and don't start a war that could damage a niche community

@ayanakajima3 I like Nakajima's decision to take responsibility. It shows that even though he's capable of stupid, selfish things, he's grown to know he can't just let others suffer for it. Other characters would have refused the call to action. I hope I get to read the official release.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is what many consider the pinnacle of 2D or NEO-GEO 2D Fighting games. I know CotW is out but I still prefer this over it.

I uploaded Chapter 4 this morning. After losing their battle with Loki, Akemi and Yumiko, who were saved by Izanami and fled to Asuka, set out for Yomi, where Izanami resides. Loki, too, uses the bank’s online system to head for Asuka and track down Akemi. From here on, the modern and ancient worlds begin to intertwine. note.com/aya_nishitani/…

@oidonhagouda It has to do with the original reason America declared independence. One of the King's tools of control was disarmament, so the founders wrote the explicit protection of arms ownership into the Constitution. That way, no court can disarm people outright.

I’ve been thinking about something I don’t fully understand. In Japan, the idea of ordinary citizens owning guns for self-defense is very uncommon. Most of us have never even considered it as an option. That’s why I’m genuinely curious — for many Americans, why is the right to bear arms (the 2nd Amendment) so important? Fighting games are hard, and there's no getting around it. The reason they aren't as popular as they used to be is because not many people want to take strings of dozens of losses before they start figuring out even basic things. Hell, moving backwards in Tekken takes practice

@COMMONSENSE8_ It's hard for the average, casual gamer to accept that you have to lose a lot at a fg before you start getting wins. I just started playing CotW online, and I was on a 20 loss streak before I finally figured out how to respond to basic tactics. It's like learning to draw.

I’ve been seeing this fighting game is hard debate and imo they are hard. They’re probably the only video game that is not point-and-click based. Most video games are designed around mouse and keyboard. You aim and you click, which is universally understood by everyone on the planet. That is the most universal game controller in the world that everyone uses for day-to-day life. The only controller that more used is the phone swipe. Fighting games are like a foreign language in that regard. I personally think that’s the barrier entry is daunting and you add in the fact that you have to fight your friends and your by yourself , it starts to get very daunting. At high-level all the games are difficult, but that entry level is very very daunting.

@Pirat_Nation I posted this elsewhere too. I think Sony wanted to use GTA sales as the "data" that the market doesn't want physical anymore, but they timed the announcement wrong. I wonder if they forgot to update the info's release date because they thought GTA would be out by now.

PlayStation fought hard and got the previous community note on the post removed, but now they have an even better one. According to the note, based on leaked info, they lied. “From the Insomniac leak, PlayStation's own single-player games make up 60-77% of sales. The data being used to argue for higher digital purchases include DLC, expansions, digital-only games such as early access, and live services.”

@TBAA73 The strategy was pretty obvious here. They know GTA is going to be huge with no physical release, so they were going to use those numbers as proof that "the market doesn't want physical." But they played their hand too early.
