@MarkEwellCO @kenzianidiot The patient has no right to know how far along their surgeon's wife was. Honestly, the surgeon didn't have to provide the info of why surgery was canceled other than personal emergency. I have empathy for OP but also know doctors are human with their own lives.

@kenzianidiot I'd seriously ask how far along she was. If less than 37 weeks, that sucks. Things happen. If more than 37 weeks and he was still scheduling surgeries that require his patients to take three weeks off work and arrange for support at home, that's unfair and unethical.

my surgeon called me at 5:16am to say he cant do surgery today, his wife went into labor. my check in was 5:30am. i was already en route, didnt sleep, took 3 weeks off work, and my mom flew out from WI. i feel like he should legally have to name the baby after me.

@witchdrkochi @Miazolam I worked in ICU for 6 years as a PA before changing to ENT. We had a neuro ICU for stroke patients. Absolutely used GCS for most patients who weren't walky talky. CVAs, ICH, sepsis, CHF and COPD exacerbations, PNA.

@Miazolam I'd like to hear #NeuroTwitter views on this regarding usage of GCS for non trauma patients.

Idk who needs to read this, but “GCS less than 8 intubate” is for TRAUMA patients

@DGlaucomflecken There's a rockstar MD in town - board certified in CC, pulm, sleep med, IM, and neuro critical care. She is married (to a CVT surgeon), has kids, and routinely works out. I'm sure her life isn't perfect, but that superwoman gets $&!t done and does it well.
