@NASAAdmin For Artemis III progress like lander readyness, how do we get updates on that?

The world watched. Artemis II carried humans farther into space than we’ve ever been in over half a century and showed a new generation what exploration looks like. The journey back to the Moon is underway. Artemis III is up next.

@SpaceKoala Find this level of transparency from NASA on what they need to the entire general public so nice. We just need this from the HLS contractors, but Jared will never see my pleas

@AeroBigMike That would also be cool. Should get a even more modernized version of the F1 made and try to squeeze ever out of preformance out of those engines.

@SpaceEnjoyers If they’re making new boosters or putting it up to competition they should reopen the advanced boosters competition and let Dynetics continue their work on the F-1 powered liquid boosters

@raptor3348 @SpaceX @elonmusk We would really like some HLS Hardware being shown. Seems Artemis III isnt really able to happen next year from an outaide perspective

@Robotbeat @danaen803 Got it. As soon as the gigabay comes online, my worries about production rate go away atleast. 6 stacking cells is insane

@SpaceEnjoyers @danaen803 It shouldn’t need refueling to do this demo. That’s why I think they should be able to do it quickly. But: they might be hesitant to expend a full HLS, so they might want to have all the lunar landing stuff on it to at least use it for the uncrewed demo. That may delay it.

I think it’s realistic for SpaceX to do an Artemis 3 LEO demo in the next 20 months if they try. Docking port, pressure vessel, and basic life support (at very least, powerful circulation). They did a very similar thing with Cargo Dragon in 2012. Both companies can do this.
Robotbeat🗽 ➐@Robotbeat

@maks_1_1__ Why? I’m a lot more concerned about launch rate for refueling and ability to land and takeoff from the moon then I am about SpaceX putting a docking port (already developed & tested, similar to Dragon’s) and pressure vessel (with Dragon-heritage life support) on starship.

They're halfway home. The Artemis II astronauts have hit the "halfway" mark between the Moon and the Earth. They will splash down in the Pacific Ocean around 8:07 pm ET on Friday, April 10 (0007 UTC on Saturday, April 11), off the coast of San Diego.

@Jason_Lil_Kim @nvidia Dont know if it would be possible, but there should be a 360 camera on the lander that is on a pole that extends out of the top of the lander. Get some cool shots of the lunar enviorment

The Moon is going to be more $FLY with our upcoming Ocula lunar imaging service that adds our AI software on an on-board @nvidia Jetson module embedded in our camera to accelerate the lunar ecosystem!
Firefly Aerospace@FireflySpace

Real-time intelligence from the Moon! Our Ocula lunar imaging service will leverage @nvidia's Jetson module and Firefly's AI software to enable on-orbit processing in lunar orbit and transmit more timely, actionable insights to customers. The high-res telescopes that power Ocula were delivered to our spacecraft facility and fit checked on our Elytra orbital spacecraft. Learn more here: fireflyspace.com/news/firefly-a…

Having the freaking NASA Admin directly answer questions about current missions on X is awesome
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman@NASAAdmin

@esaagar There are some technical and performance reasons, but we are essentially combining Apollo 7 and Apollo 8 into a single Artemis II mission.

Artemis II has reached its maximum distance from Earth. On the far side of the Moon, 252,756 miles away, Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy have now traveled farther from Earth than any humans in history and now begin their journey home. Before they left, they said they hoped this mission would be forgotten, but it will be remembered as the moment people started to believe that America can once again do the near-impossible and change the world. Congratulations to this incredible crew and the entire NASA team, our international and commercial partners, but this mission isn’t over until they’re under safe parachutes, splashing down into the Pacific.
