Build the Base.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman@NASAAdmin

To build a sustained human presence on the Moon, we are building @NASAMoonBase, prioritizing surface operations and scalable infrastructure.  - Frequent robotic landings and mobility testing including MoonFall drones  - Starting in 2027 nearly monthly cadence of equipment and rovers with scientific payloads landing on the Moon.  - Investments in power, communications, and surface mobility  - Scalable infrastructure to support long-term human presence The objective is clear: build the foundation for an enduring lunar base and take the next step toward Mars.

The world watched. Artemis II carried humans farther into space than we’ve ever been in over half a century and showed a new generation what exploration looks like. The journey back to the Moon is underway. Artemis III is up next.

And splashdown! America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon and bringing them home safely. Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy did an outstanding job. These talented astronauts inspired the world and represented their space agencies and nations as humanity’s ambassadors to the stars. This was a test mission, the first crewed flight of SLS and Orion, pushing farther into the unforgiving environment of space than ever before, and it carried real risk. They accepted that risk for all we stood to learn and for the exciting missions that follow, as we return to the lunar surface, build a Moon base, and prepare for what comes next. And they were not alone. The entire NASA workforce, our commercial and international partners, and the hopes and dreams of people all over the world were with them. The astronauts know it, and you should too. This mission would not have been possible without you. Congratulations. Artemis II, mission accomplished.

The Artemis II crew is boarding Orion.  Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy are taking their seats atop the most powerful manned rocket ever built. They have trained for years for this moment, and now they are preparing to execute a mission that will take us back around the Moon and begin the next chapter of human space exploration.

NASA astronauts are returning to the Moon. @POTUS took the most meaningful step forward in space since the Kennedy administration by establishing Artemis. In his second term, he signed the One Big Beautiful Bill, giving NASA the resources to execute, and now Artemis II is on the launchpad. In the days ahead, the brave crew of Artemis II will launch potentially farther into space than humans have ever gone before, nearly 250,000 miles away from Earth. Artemis III will follow in 2027, testing one or both commercial landers in low Earth orbit, followed by Artemis IV, which will put American boots back on the lunar surface - not for flags and footprints, but to stay, to build the Moon Base.

Thank you to the NASA workforce, industry partners, and international allies who made Ignition possible. We have the vision, resources, and experience. Now we move beyond presentations and PowerPoint and execute @POTUS’s vision for space superiority. It’s time to start believing again.
